Several weeks ago I seem to remember a discussion concerning a recommended herbicide for getting ride of the tall weeds in front of a sea wall. Can any one refresh my memory?

I have them......easy to pull up. I would recommend that as first option.

I had them a few years ago and pulled them up two years in a row only to have them come back like the world's fair,  bigger and better every year.  I got rid of them by using the tiller over the winter to dig them up.  You don't have to go deep at all but they have running roots that have to be pulled up. I had to stop a time or two to clear the tines but I haven't had a weed since.  Two years ago I helped a neighbor do his the same way and he is still weed less.  IMO any spray that is safe to use in water won't kill them.  I tried for several years before resorting to brute force.

Use a pitchfork to loosen them as you will get more of the root when you pull them out..

Best way I have found is to give your wife a shovel and let her get some good exercise during the winter months.  Biggest part is to make sure you get all the roots.

What's your recommedation for dealing with the torqued-off wife after the weeds are gone?  Have her build a new pier?

That's how I got mine built.

If your able to wait until the water goes down and the grass roots are no longer submerged, Roundup at 5% will do it, and to be safe, pull the roots weeks later, worked for me, 6 years, no grasses
