I wish I could have gotten a picture of the people with their dog on Goat Island, right under the sign that says "NO DOGS."

It could have been the same people that treat Cheeseburger Island like it was theirs; it's the same neighborhood. But probably it wasn't the same people; the problem is basically that People Suck.

Went by today first time in maybe 15 years. Saw no goats but we did see numerous boats beached and set up like for camping?.

I know that people camp all weekend on Goat Island, but not usually near South end, where the goats make their home. But there are people who will spend all day parked at the South end, right in the goat's area, which makes it all but impossible for other people to pull up and enjoy the goats. Who knows, maybe people are taking the next step and camping there, too. Pretty selfish, but that's a good description of too many people these days, even here on the lake. Maybe especially here on the lake.

It's a real shame that caring people go about and try to do some fun things on the islands, and then others either deface or ruin the fun for others for the own selfishness.  I think we would all like to see some magic and fun put back into life on the lake, especially for the kids whose childhood memories will be made of seeing the goats on an island or coming across a pirate's trove on another island.  Maybe if we all sought to add to the fun, and not take it away, or ruin it, we could feel good about knowing that we contributed in some small part to a child's happy memory of the lake.
