Hilda is taking her cues from watching episodes of the West Wing and from taking polls.  One episode of the West Wing had President Bartlett proposing to cure cancer.  So Hilda takes a wild stab and proposes curing Alzheimers with $2 billion dollars a year in research.  Just more money the democrats want to take from our wallets when they could repeal Obamacare and enable the health care industry to fund this research on their own.

She will say most anything to get elected...even if they thought she could weather owning up to the big screw-up with her emails.  She will never own Benghazi.

If it were up to people with your thought process, we would no have cures for any disease. Most all medical research receives some government funding. The health and welfare of the people is a main purpose of government. Look at funding fo ZIKA wnich the Republican House could not approve. Yet, Scott of Florida who hates the Federal government is begging for Congress to return from recess and vote for funding. Obama has come to the rescue with funding from otherr programs.

Why do ALL the MSM say that the dimokraps are holding up the zika law.  The dimokraps won't vote to save lives, because they are much more concerned about funding the baby killing abortionists the dimokraps love so much.  HUH????

The health and welfare of the people IS NOT THE ROLE OF THE GOVERNMENT.  Protecting the people is but not providing health care for everyone.  It is a republic not socialism.
