Why is the water level down?  Have they started lowering the level?

If not for that rainy spell in August, the lake would be even lower.

Welcome to the lake and the Forum.  I received my LMRA newsletter today and there was a very well written article by Charles Borden, past president.  He stated that APCO has already declared that the mid October drawdown would not be achieved this year due to the summer drought.  APCO expects this to occur 20% of the time, or 1 in 5 years.  APCO also expects to hold the winter pool at 483 (is this really 482 on tho old measure?).  Charles also dropped a new concern regarding the COE wanting to permanently drop the lake level by 2 feet.  You should consider joining LMRA, it's a bargain at $25/year.

Why would the COE want a drop in the lake elevation?  Two feet may not seem like much, but unless you have a deep water lot,  it will be a huge change.
