Wondered if any of you lake veterans have ever gone to the Atlanta Boat Show?   I've heard people talk about how this is the place to get good deals.  Any suggestions or advice from those of you who have gone the boat show purchase route?

I have not been to the Atlanta Boat Show, but am planning to go to the Birmingham Boat Show this month. I have a 2006 pristine 26' Bennington tritoon with 200 hours on it that we bought new at the Montgomery Boat Show in 2006.  Thinking about a new boat....definitely another Bennington.

I've been there a couple of times and it is a very dangerous place to be unless you leave your checkbook, credits cards and any form of personal ID at home.  You can in fact get some very good deals at the show, sometimes scary good.  So if you are in the market for a new money sink that makes a hole in the water I would highly recommend it.  If you aren't and your impulse control is low I would run away.  :-)  

Having said all that, it is really fantastic and fun to go and dream and drool.

Just remember, you can't have one of the 80 - 90 ft houseboats on Lake Martin.  BTW, go to Miami Boat Show for a real thrill.  Biggest high I've ever had!!  Buy, buy.....

woodboat; be ready for a real shock; i too have a 2006 bennington, 150 yamaha, looked last year into buying another B with smaller HP now that kids no longer come to ski-- i almost went into cardiac arrest after i saw new price compared to 2006; needless to say, i am keeping my 2006 !!
