As a Federal retiree you pay the same premiums and receive the same benefits as an active Federal employee. Federal agencies pay 70% of the cost and the employee pays 30%. My point is that the taxpayers are paying 70% of the cost.

Are you saying that DOD civilian employees are treated differently than all other Federal employees?

I feel that everyone in this country is indeed entitled to low cost insurance. Affordable insurance is what Trump has promised....lower rates than Obamacare.

as a retiree, my healthcare is not subsidized by the taxpayers.  My "benefit" is that I get to belong to the pool, but I pay the full cost every month.  My dental plan is a totally separate coverage, and I pay the full cost for it too.

Sorry Hound - figured since he was much like a drive by shooter he does not go back to the scene of his crimes that I would just save you some trouble.

That is a post from hound where she posted below, having seen it buried in the previous argument of protests, vulgar language, vagina hats etc - decided to just go ahead and stop this clown from showing his lack of intelligence just a little more - I am sure she can answer your questions in terms of what she pays if she is willing.  Here is the link to her post which I pasted.  Since Goof-liar loves to piss and moan about well everything - I like to document where something comes from.

As for myself I pay part and the business pays part and when I retire I get a beneft from having put as many years into this place as I have, when I retire I will be able to continue paying out of pocket for my plan, and the company does not pay anymore, however I do get the added benefit of the organizaiton for a cost reduction vs going into the private market solo since all those who are past present and future due to cost reductions based on quantity of people covered.

I will also be able to pull social security when I retire or hit 65 - this is something that is earned by working and paying taxes.

I also itimize my taxes to get the best refund possible within the current tax laws, health insurance, doctor visits, co-pays, drug payments are all deducatable you see.   I am sure that the Goof would like to spin this into some taxpayer subsidy, but it is living inside the rules.

These not a freebie, gift or entitlement.

Hopefully that answers your question to your satisfaction.

Thanks Phillsie for posting Hound's post. I figured since this was for Hound she would understand that if referenced her previous post. Guess you are really Hound in drag. FYI, I don't think  anyone gives a damn if you itemize or take the Standard deduction unless you are trying to impress me. And, I am not impressed.

I answered his question you asshat, as for deductions trying to impress you - I have come to the conclusion that the only thing that would impress you is Hillary gives you a suprise lap dance, while the rest of us would look on in horror at both you and the prospect of Hillary period.

If I am Hound in drag I would be proud of myself - whats not to like, someone who has worked for a living, retired and seems smart enough to see through you and with insight into our government.

Unlike you who no amount of coverage could make you look better.  Maybe you can start wearing your burka, then all we get to see is your level indicator of your brown eyes.

As for myself I pay part and the business pays part and when I retire………

If I am Hound in drag I would be proud of myself - whats not to like, someone who has worked for a living, retired and seems smart enough to see through you and with insight into our government.

Tough to remember when you tell alternative facts. Either you are retired or you are not retired. You need to keep to the truth cause you get so excited about me having a lapdance from Hillary that it causes you to get confused between truth and alternative facts. Now, go find a cool cartoon and some  URL that explains that retire and retired in Latin can be interchanged if used by a Macho Snowflake. The Forum waits.........

Opps, I almost forgot…I want to thank you on behalf of the entire Forum for educating us on Social Security. I am sure this is news to everybody…. "I will also be able to pull social security when I retire or hit 65 - this is something that is earned by working and paying taxes."

Never realized there was a benefit called Social Security that one earns by working and paying taxes. You are de man for keeping us posted on Federal benefits.

As for myself I pay part and the business pays part and when I retire………

and here

If I am Hound in drag I would be proud of myself - whats not to like, someone who has worked for a living, retired

Again you are a asshat - you do not read what you post and incorrectly lie about everything,

You are fake news.  You do not get a question, dont be rude - Donald J Trump

Glad you call it a Benefit now vs an entitlement.

No, I am saying that as a retiree, the government no longer subsidizers any part of my healthcare.  The benefit that I get is that I am permitted to remain as part of the negotiated pool.  Yes, the government subsidizes part of the working civilians health care cost, but not those that are RETIRED.  Just as my cost of living adjustment has nothing to do with any raises the federal workstaff may get.  I get the same cost of living adjustment as those military retirees and those that get social security.

For the record, I will never be able to claim social security, as the only time in my life I worked under social security was duing my high school years and I have not paid in enough quarters to collect.  Also, I will not be entitled to some part of my husband's social security benefit if he passes away because I already collect a federal pension.  I will however, be covered under Medicare when I turn 65, because I have paid into it while working for the government.

My health insurance premiums go up every year, just like everyone else's.  While I have no complaints about my health insurance, my deductible goes up every year (like everyone elses), the drugs they are willing to pay for gets smaller (it's a tiered system) and the percentage of tests they pay the full cost for goes down every year.  The only thing that has been stable are the copays - $25 for a regular doctor and $35 for a specialist.  It's not exactly the gold plated insurance that everyone seems to think it is.  One thing about the federal health insurance is that there are in excess of 30 different companies and plans to choose from including a couple of HMOs.  I have elected to have BC/BS becasue it is the most widely accepted, but I could have Atnea, or Kaiser or some others if i wanted to pay less for less covereage.  And even the BC/BS is offered at 2 levels - Standard and Basic, for two different costs.

That sux!  I know that helped my mother when my father passed, was not much but at least it was something.  Mother-in-law on the other hand would have to move in with me if it was not for the death benefit.
