Phil should be able to spin this. Let's see...in 1946......

"Fox News has reportedly pulled Andrew Napolitano from the air indefinitely after he made claims that a British intelligence agency had wiretapped Trump Tower. Napolitano, a Fox News analyst, is not scheduled to appear on the network in the near future, the Los Angeles Times reported, according to people familiar with the situation.

Last week, Napolitano made the claims about the Government Communications Headquarters (GCHQ) spying on Trump at former President Barack Obama's behest.

There may be more to this story than meets the eye. As I said in an earlier post, the fact that Comey failed to answer many questions by saying that the investigation was still pending casts some doubt about this entire matter. The fact that Comey is deeply involved in this investigation seems to indicate that the "truth" may never be known. It is also possible that the Brits response to the possibility of their involvement might not be completely truthful. Would there be any consequences against the Brits if it came to light that maybe they did play a part in this undertaking. Is it not possible that the FBI and the NSA could be withholding some key information that is pertinent to this case? I think there are too many holdovers from the previous administration who dislike President Trump to rule out some type of coverup.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                       The fact that Comey said, "Putin hated Secretary Clinton so much that he had a preference to the person running against the person he hated so much" to be somewhat troubling. There were some dealings between the United States and Russia like: 1. Hillary approved the transfer of 20% of US uranium to Russia, 2. Bill Clinton bagged $500,000 for a Moscow speech, 3. Hillary's campaign chairman's Joule energy company bagged $35 million from Putin's Rusnano, 4. Hillary hid $2.35 million in secret donations from Ian Telfer, the head of Russia"s uranium company, to name just a few. I fail to see much "hate" of Mr. Putin toward Secretary Clinton in these dealings.                                                                                                                                                                                                                           Additionally, Rep. Trey Gowdy asked some very "specific" questions to Comey regarding the potential of leaks by Obama administration officials as well as the President himself. Comey seemed somewhat frustrated by the questioning and several times said he would not go there in answering some of the questions. For anyone that is interested and did not watch the hearing, I suggest that you refer to Rep. Gowdy's line of questioning and see if there isn't room for "digging" a lot deeper into this matter.

Another good line of questioning was from Elise Stefanik, a freshman congresswoman from New York.  She posed the question of why, if an investigation of Trump started in July 2016, was Congress only notified in March 2017.  Comey's response is unconvincing and further convinces me he is up to his eyeballs in politics.  See this very interesting account of the exchanges between Stefanik and Comey here

Think it is less about what Napolitano said and more about Rupert Murdoch's ties to Britain.  I can remember the 2011 phone hacking scandals in Britain and Murdoch was claimed to have lots of ties to British leaders,  Murdoch was investigated and he lost a lot of respect and readership in Britain - Would have to say by removing Napolitano, Murdoch attemping to get back some of his former status.

If we fired the news media for lies - who would be left at CNN,NBC,ABC,MSNBC,FOX?  Would be nothing but cameras focused on an empty desk.

Maybe if journalists had ethics, they are less trust worth then politicians.

Now, now GF, you should know better than to take the LA Times as gospel.  Either way, if he presented something that he knew was false he should be removed.  But if he was played by sources and presented it as such I suspect his time off air will be short lived.  Apparently Dow Newswire has said as much (i.e., he will be back soon).  As someone else said much better than I, if presenting something on the news that was later debunked was a criteria for firing there would be no ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN, etc.  It sadly happens all the time which is why the media is less trusted than Congress.....a feat I thought not possible.

I grinned when I read that abiut cameras pointed at empty desks. If I recall you are from the bham area so you may remember when the Bham CBS affiliate channel 8 took their local news off the air without prior notice and replaced it with a 30 day countdown clock. Their ratings went up... Lol. The clock was more interesting, informative and entertaining than the previous newscast.

If you think that GF then you must watch only fox news and are not aware of the facade and theories espoused on other channels.  By the way where does your Time Warner bill come from?

FoxNews has nothing on the mainstream media when it comes to fake news.  Either way, I haven't seen anything in what he said or wrote that went beyond him repeating what he was told by anonymous sources.  If that's fake news then 90% of the news is fake because unnamed sources seems to be the norm for the media.  I suspect he will be back because he is a popular news commentator.
