Prescribed burning should be against the law!

Tallapoosa county health department should have a say about this. You could not see across the lake the entire day. House has been closed all day and all the furniture and clothes will sell like smoke for weeks. If it is like this tomorrow someone will be getting a call.

Herb needs to tell the burn gods that he has a business to run and they'd best be done by early April.

On the contrary, in may areas is isn't doen often enough; it's the regulated burning of the understory that keeps natural fires from becoming raging infernos.

But when it's done, it needs to be done right, and at the right time, and today was a TERRIBLE day to be burning. There isn't really any excuse for it.

The wind was blowing out of the East at warp speed.  At least that kept the smoke from blowing the other way!

Never a good day for burning if the smoke goes your way.

It was horrible in Alexander City the other day.  I wonder if they are at all concerned about people that have respiratory issues?

Then I got home and some of my neighbors were burning and the smoke was hanging in the air. I could smell it in the house, and it was causing my eyes to burn.  Add it to pollen season - I'd probably like Spring a lot better if my eyes weren't burning and running.
