In regards to electricity by the water according to our new guide the lake level will be higher than usual. Keep that in mind. What has been "safe" in the past may not be now.

That is not correct. The level will be the same as always, only now it is reported as 491,the correct level. It has always been 491 but due to a mistake it was reported as 490. The water will NOT be a foot higher.

Actually the lake levels are being maintained slightly higher than in years past.  Not a measurement thing, just Alabama Power keeping the lake closer to published full pool level.  I'd prefer it to be about 6" lower.

Yeah. I've been watching the level through Alabama power and their measurement shows it getting higher. I've read here that its the same just measured differently. Its touching the bottom of my neighbors pier runner. We'll see.

Broke Point is correct in that since the drought of '07 APCO has been keeping the levels higher for longer. They made significant investment in new and better software that allows for better management. The actual physical level is no higher than it has ever been though. I can't say why it appears higher to you but I can guarantee it is not any higher than it has been historically.

Ok. Thanks. I don't know what will happen in the future but check your data re: historical levels on this date. Average is lower. Just nitpicking, I know. Unless the ap site is wrong.

You are right that it is higher than it has been on this date because they changed the plug date and accelerated the fill schedule. I thought you were saying it was higher than it has ever been. So your observations are correct, it is higher now than what it used to be this time of year. The 490 vs 491 has caused a good bit of confusion.

What is this? A calmer nicer Lifer?  4 20 day had an effect!

Yes it has. I didn't think about the month earlier plug date effecting current levels. Oh and lakngulf. 420 is George take, a notorious Nazi and my birthday. Lets party.
