You know aside from more powerful foreign relations, and generating allies to defeat terriosm, and better border protection, and ferretting out criminal illegals, and the economy, and more jobs staying in usa, and a resolve for american pride, and a push toward justice, and a surge of support for law enfoecement, and a classy first lady and daughter......this presidency has been a disaster!

Yeah sure...a class act!  The ''classy'' first lady wears a $51,000 coat to a reception (any comments from those out of work coal miners in KY and WV that so love the Donald?), Trump grabs the Prime Minister of Montenegro by the shoulder to barge ahead of him to regain the center of attention, Six leaders of the G7 walk to a gathering while the sir orange takes a golf cart,  The Dear Leader is seriously late for a G7 gathering but shoves his way to the center of the picture once he arrives,  Mr President does the spoiled brat act by talking down to his fellow leaders while the cameras roll!  Yeah, glad you like having a true jackass in the Oval office

WAKE UP PEOPLE...YOU HAVE BEEN SCAMMED!!!

BTW:  The vast majority of America (even more than the 54.1% who did not vote for this, according to John Boehner, disaster) would take serious issue with all the ''good'' things you attribute to this idiot!

You baited Archie out of his hole.  In spite of Archies vitriol and negativity a me first, us first President is good for America.  No more Presidents in panties.  Friends respect strength and adversaries fear it.

“You know, aside from more powerful foreign relations…..”

What are you talking about?  Our NATO allies are backing away from us because Trump appears much less willing & interested in being united with them….. hypocritically refusing to endorse Article 5 (which required THEM to help US after 9/11), lecturing and attempting to embarrass them by claiming they are in debt to us (not true), and embracing the Saudi’s whose country is a primary ideological & financial hub for radical Sunni theology.

,”and generating allies to defeat terriosm”

Are you talking about Philippine president Duterte?   Trump was among the few world leaders who congratulated him on his authoritarian tactics…. So yesterday, Duterte told his troops he would OK  raping women as part of his declaration of martial law.    Some ally he will be.   Do you honestly think the Isreali's are MORE supportive of us after Trump revealed secret info they had given us?   On the other hand, Vladimir Putin seems firmly in support of President Donald Trump's every action.

“, and better border protection”

The wall on the Mexico border?   That idea hasn’t gone anywhere because even a Republican Congress understands it to be a wasteful boondoggle rather than a meaningful tactic.   Border protection remains about the same as before.

“and ferretting out criminal illegals”

What is mostly happening is that people who have over-stayed their visas (some having lived here for many years while working, contributing to their community and being law-abiding) are being arrested and deported when they do their annual check-in with ICE.   Criminals are being arrested and deported on about the same scale as before, it’s the law abiding immigrants that are now being rounded up to satisfy Immigrant-haters.

 “and the economy”

Well, the stock market is up…. But it’s too early to declare that Trump has improved the economy.   All the recent hubbub can be explained by 1) Obama’s handling of the economy set us on a good upward trajectory and 2) the irrational exuberance of Wall Street minions who expect Trump will remove restrictions on how they can make money….. like rolling back environmental & consumer protections.   What has Trump done to improve the economy?   Well, HIS business interests certainly appear to be surging into high-profit territory…. That’s for sure.

“, and more jobs staying in usa”

Can you prove that after only 4 months in office with something besides Donald’s tweets as evidence?

“and a resolve for american pride”

Well, the guy has insulted world leaders (Australia, Germany, Mexico), spilled US intelligence info to the Russians because he was too dim to keep up with what was supposed to be top secret,  accused the former POTUS of wiretapping him (wrong, but he didn’t apologize), boasted to the Russian Ambassador & Foreign Minister that fired FBI director Comey was “a nut job” but admits to firing him to impede the Russia investigations on NBC,   appears now to have authorized his son in law to establish a secret back channel of communications to the Kremlin that would not be known to the US government,   hired General Flynn in spite of all warnings, then elevated him to the most sensitive position in the White House, canned him only after news reports surfaced confirming he was working too closely with Russians and had failed to register as a paid foreign agent while he was both in the campaign and serving in the White House.    None of that contributes to national pride.   It makes us look inept, foolish, and intentionally incompetent.

“and a push toward justice”

Where do you see that happening?   You think taking medical insurance, food stamps & educational resources away from people is justice?

“and a surge of support for law enfoecement”

Is it odd to claim Trump supports law enforcement when he is on record saying he will pay the legal expenses of anyone who assaults a protestor?   How about encouraging his supporters to intiimidate the news media by calling them the enemy?    Is it supportive of law enforcement when he delittles the FBI director to the Russians?  How about when he approaches various law enforcement officials and asks them to back off investigating how the Russians supported & assisted him to win the Presidency?

“and a classy first lady and daughter”

Melania & Ivanka are beautiful women.   Melania looks good naked.   And Michelle Obama caught hell for wearing sleeveless dresses.   Melania & Ivanka are great examples of beautiful white women.   I’m happy for them.

“......this presidency has been a disaster!”

And we are only 4 months into it so far…….

You losers cheered when designers refused to dress the FLOTUS - someone decided to and the difference is that she probably paid for it, maybe not 100% retail but then again you can not get better ad space then the first lady. It was not gifted or borrowed  like it is to Hollywood, or other political wack jobs.  It did not cost you, me or anyone else tax payer money so what does it matter?  If you got it, great, look its called the economy... someone has something you want, you have money, you spend money, someone gets a job or keeps a job,  wow...............

  • Why it matters: Germany spends 1.19% of its GDP on defense, compared to the 3.61% the U.S. spends and the 2% requirement from NATO. Trump and German Chancellor Angela Merkel have previously discussed NATO spending, and one of our sources told Axios that Trump has mentioned to Merkel the U.S. feels taken advantage of.

So as tax payers we are on the hook for countries who are not paying the full amount into NATO,  and also not spending what it is required to do on its own defense.....  Soooooo someone spends their food money on video games and their mortage on illegal drugs the answer to their pay off their house at no cost to them and foodstamps so they can continue making bad choices........

not even going to keep going....

I agree.  She has the money to buy it, so what is wrong with her wearing it.  It was from Dolce and Gabana, an Italian firm, and she was visiting Italy.  A subtle bit of diplomacy,  that someone like say, Jackie Kennedy, might have pulled off.   She works subtlely, unlike the previous FLOTUS, and she looks much better than say, Hillary, who would have been stomping around in one of her dowdy pantsuits.

I have to disagree with your assessment here.   Trump’s determination to embarrass NATO allies is just designed to churn up his base… but also serves to undermine historic defense alliances in place for over 50 years.   Claiming that NATO members owe us money is just wrong….

Here’s a description of the situation from the New York Times   May 26, 2017

“Are NATO nations violating a rule?

No. The 2 percent standard is just a guideline, not a legally binding requirement. In 2006, even as the United States was increasing military spending because of the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, European allies were shrinking their military spending. NATO defense ministers that year adopted a guideline suggesting that each spend the equivalent of 2 percent of its annual economic output on its military — but it was a target, not a rule, and not endorsed by heads of state.

Only in 2014, after Russia annexed Crimea and intervened militarily in eastern Ukraine, did NATO leaders meeting in Wales agree to the 2 percent standard, and even then they urged members to “move toward” that goal by 2024, still seven years away.

Gary J. Schmitt, a scholar at the conservative American Enterprise Institute, said Mr. Trump was putting it in layman’s terms and “doesn’t care whether it’s technically accurate.”

But Mr. Schmitt identified two problems: “One, because it’s not technically correct, it is too easily dismissed by the very folks he wants to put pressure on. Two, and more important, it tends to bury the point that we’re invested in European security for our own strategic reasons.”

The important point is that if Germany doesn’t make defense spending 2% of their annual GDP, it does NOT mean that the US has to cough up more spending to make up for that.   NATO’s annual budget is $2 billion per year… with member contributions based on the size of each ally in the collective... The US pays 22.14% of that $2 billion annually. Germany comes in second, supplying 14.65%.

Trying to humiliate our allies does not make for good security strategy.  It does, however, play to Trump's base who may want to believe that the US is so strong that we do not need any strategic alliances in the world.   On the other hand, alienating these allies and damaging NATO is, however, a primary strategic goal of Vladimir Putin.

We would all do well to remember who is really benefiting from Trump’s efforts here.   And it ain’t US taxpayers by any stretch of the imagination……

Is Mr. Trump the first to raise this concern?

No. Presidents George W. Bush and Barack Obama both pressed NATO allies to increase military spending. It was a regular theme of Robert M. Gates, who served as defense secretary under both presidents. In his final policy speech before stepping down in 2011, Mr. Gates said Americans were growing impatient spending money “on behalf of nations that are apparently unwilling to devote the necessary resources or make the necessary changes to be serious and capable partners in their own defense.”

Mr. Obama raised it during a visit to Europe after Russia’s Ukraine intervention. “One of the things that I think, medium and long term, we’ll have to examine is whether everybody is chipping in,” he said. “And this can’t just be a U.S. exercise or a British exercise or one country’s efforts.”

awww try again - your Hero Obama pushed it  -

We can not be the police force for the world.  We should not be arming the rest of the damn world or be expected to jump and run when they did not.  We should not have to protect the rest of the damn world from crappy decisions when they actually neighbor with war zones.

If you live somewhere and your neighbors are constantly breaking in and taking your stuff - lets wait for the police from 100000 miles away or maybe I should have bought that gun from the store and shot that punk in the face.....

You can't be stupid enough to believe that NATO operates on $2 Billion/yr.  the US probably spends that much on jet fuel for European based fighters.  Are you that gullible?  Do you think US troops in Europe are paid with that $2 Billion?  That $2 B is probably used to pay the rent for the NATO bldg in Belgium, with a little left over for the janitor service.  You really DO believe everything the liberal rags print.  GEEEZZZ!!!!!!!

http://www.economist.com/blogs/graphicdetail/2017/02/daily-chart-11

now lets take a look at some charts for those too dumb to read words.

The US is not ground zero of warzone nor is it adjacent to much.  We have a lot of water around us for some level of defense.

Now many countries who are actually right up in the cesspool of Europe that we would really like to see stay there if for no other reason then to make sure we can can put a missle/defense in Putins backyard and to protect the little guy that we really would prefer to stay there and not become another ISIS, IRAN, Lybia....

Now is the world safer today then 1991??(Lets use that since that is where these charts start from)

I believe what we could say is that with ISIS, terrorism and all the worlds problems -  that the world is not as safe of a place since 1991, but people are spending less and less( the graphs are all sloping down and down and down ) to not only their own defence but with that reduction is also a reduction to what is available to NATO as a whole when that need arises.

So instead of spending some money on missles, tanks and airplanes that may or may not be needed - when war breaks out somewhere, who is going to be left footing the next war  in terms of manpower, weapons and taxpayer money. Because I did not spend it when I could, and now that I really am in a hornets nest and need help I am too busy or its tied up and not liquid enough to get what is needed, but I have a great big taxbase back in the USA willing to fund me to freedom - while I who do not have natural defenses and do not think it is as important will worry about it tomorrow.
