Subject:   Comely's testimony

Read Comely's statement for his testimony tomorrow.  Unless he has some big reveal during the Q&As, I think the media has blown all of this out of proportion.

Trump asked for loyalty and said he expected loyalty (I dont think this is too far out there, saying he expected loyalty of someone that was appointed by his predecessor)

Trump asked if he was the focus of an investigation.  I think any reasonable person would have asked the same.

Trump asked Comely if he could see his way to lay off Flynn.  (he didn't demand they end the investigation of Flynn, or threaten to fire him unless they laid off Flynn)

Trump asked for Comely's help to get the word out that he is not the subject of an investigation.  (Comely did not)

Trump told Comely that the investiation was a distraction to his Presidency.  (I agree and I keep wondering what is keeping them from wrapping this investigation back).

An Admiral and other Administrated appointed officials said they have never felt any pressure from Trump to do anything.

The media has been making as big a deal out of this testimony, as NBC tried to make out of the Megan Kelly interview with Putin.  I expect the results will be about the same.

You should hear the hysteria on the D.C. NBC station.  I just got back in town and the nausea factor is off the scale.  Will be even more interesting tomorrow night if Comey comes off as an overlooked spaghetti noodle tomorrow.

The three who testified yesterday laid to rest this idea that there was pressure to stop the Russia investigation, that there was a request for additional funds, let alone a denial, and so on.  What I think we are going to hear from Comey will not be flattering about his interaction with Trump but there will be no evidence of obstruction.  For the life of me I can't understand the focus of DC on this issue. Comey has already stated under oath he was not pressured to do anything inappropriate.  For him to say otherwise today will mean he not only committed perjury but violated other federal laws about disclosure of attempts to obstruct justice.  So he will say unflattering things about Trump......well duh!  Trump fired him.  What do you think he is going to say?

Dems in the know have been trying for weeks to manage expectations but thye no longer run the party.  The democrat party has become a wing of the govt media complex and not the other way around.  And left wing nuts suffering from TDS are rewarding them for their bias.  Just look at pmsnBS's ratings since Trump was elected.  This has been the best thing that ever happened to them.

So now we know who attempted to obstruct justice and it wasn't Trump.  It was Loretta Lynch on behalf of Hillary.  I think we better know what Slick Willie and Loretta talked about in their secret meeting in Arizona.....and it wasn't grandkids and the weather.  And we now know that he was the source of the leak of his memo.  No wonder Trump fired his sorry behind and felt the need to ask him for his honest loyalty.  And I can now assume Dems will once again hate Comey.  I have to give this guy credit, he has managed to alienate pretty much everyone of every political persuasion.  Not that I actually believe this will change the mantra of the govt media or Dems....

What is fascinating with his testimony is this exchange with Senator Jim Risch.  What Comey believed is not what was said.  Sorry Dems, but how Comey felt doesn't even closely come close to establishing anything.

Risch: "Boy you nailed this down on page 5 paragraph 3, you put this in quotes, words matter, you wrote down the words so we could all have the words in front of us now.  There are 28 words there that are in quotes and it says, 'I hope', this is the President speaking, 'I hope you can see your way claer to letting this go, to letting Flynn go...I hope you can let this go.'"

"Now those are his exact words, is that correct"

Comey:  "Correct."

Risch:  "And you wrote them here and you put them in quotes?"

Comey:  "Correct."

Risch:  "Thank you for that.  He did not direct you to let it go."

Comey:  "Not in his words, no."

Risch:  "He did not order you to let it go."

Comey:  "Again, those words are not an order."

Risch:  "He said 'I hope'.  Now, like me you probably did 100's of cases, maybe 1,000s of cases charging people with criminal offenses.  And, of course, you have knowlege of the 1,000s of cases out there where people have been charged.  Do you know of any case where a person has been charged for obstruction of justice, for that matter of any other criminal offense,  where they said or thought they hoped for an outcome?"

Comey:  "I don't know well enough to answer.  And the reason I keep saying 'his words' is I took it as a direction..."

Risch:  "You may have taken it as a direction but that is not what he said.  He said, 'I hope.'  You don't know of anyone who has ever been charged for hoping something, is that a fair statement?"

Comey:  "I don't as I sit here."

As we all knew, this is amounting to a bunch of nothing (although I would love to be fly on the wall in the classified session).

One thing I will say is this - If I were dealing with a seasoned politician and he said "I hope...." I would take that for Washington-speak that it was what he wanted done.  But as we all know, Trump is not a seasoned politician, he doesn't engage in Washington-speak.  He is blunt, and direct, and I think if he wanted any investigation crushed, he would have said it.  Trump is not a lawyer, so he doesn't lawyer speak. He may have been truly concerned about Flynn, and did not want to see him crusified.

I'm also a little distrubed by what Comey is indicating the role of the FBI.  I agree with him that they need to be somewhat independent.  But Comey, seems to me to be suggesting, that they do not work for the President - he seems to suggest that he is not reportable to the Presiddnt.

I personally am tired of the length of time this investigation is taking.  they have already said that the Russians did something to interfere.  It should not be that hard to figure out if someone from the Trump engaged the Russians.

As much as I dislike McCain, he just brought up an elephant - was it a double standard that he cleared Hillary, but has allowed this investigation to linger with Trump (since they were both candidates when all this stuff was supposedly done).

Interesting point about Lorretta Lynch and not convening a special counsel, but is anyone really surprised? I'm not.

CNN not MSNBC. Need to wait until Trump releases the tapes to see if Comey is a liar or Comey called Trump's bluff.

Comey, as well as the three that testified yesterday documented very well that not only is there no evidence of collusion between Trump and the Russians but that he was correct when he asserted he wasn't even under investigation.  Their testimony slso demonstrates that Trump never attempted to derail the Russia investigation nor obstruct justice, which at least for Comey is consistent with his prior sworn statement under penalty of perjury.  As to who is telling the truth about who invited who to dinner, what Trump hoped would happen with the Flynn investigation and all the other nonsensical claims by the govt media complex and their lackeys in the Democrat party, who really gives a flying flip?  This he said/she said stuff is only important to those suffering from TDS.  Time to move on, let Mueller waste millions of dollars to get some process prosecutions and get to work making America great again.  Trump has been exonerated from pretty much every specious claim and can now get to work on his agenda.

If it were President Hillary and not Trump, you would be yelling lock her up.

If one of your employees rented a Corvette for $400/day rather than a compact when visiting a client, I assume you would call them into your office to discuss the need to watch expenses. If you want to be nice and said...."I hope you will rent a compact next trip" rather than "Next trip you will rent a compact" the results will be the same. The employee will take the word hope to mean will if they want to keep their job.

Hope coming from the President is no different than if he used the word will. The evidence is quite simple....the employee, Comey, was fired.

Had Comey "leaked" the fact that he had told Trump on three occasions there was no investigation of the POTUS, he might still have his job and this hearing today would have never occurred.

If it was something I would want done I would use plain language.  "If you ever do that again you will be terminated." of the kindler, gentler, "Don't ever do that again."  I tend to treat people like they are adults and not children.  You obviously lack the executive level function that Trump and I have as CEO's and business people.  Keep trying to divine intent Goofy beyond the actual owrds spoken Goofy......you have lots of company with wimpy babies like Comey and deranged TDS sufferers.

Have you seen what Alan dersowhitch (sp?) has been saying. POTUS has the right and legal authority to stop any investigation he chooses, but he didn't. He expressed his hopes, not his commands. He could have easily said stop the investigation and it would be legal. Just as he could have said reopen the investigation into shrillary. But he didn't. He could have said as of this moment Flynn is pardoned and that would have shut it down. For that matter he could have said if you are investigating me, I pardon myself, now shut it down. Each and every instance would be legal ad binding. Go pound sand you deranged idiot. Elections have consequences, some horrible like the 8 years obammy, some great like the defeat of shrillary. You are an embarrassment to yourself. Why don't you ESAD already.

You referring to Comey, Hillary or Lynch?  As for Trump, it seems to me that he has either transitioned to a typical politician or already had all those human imperfections that seem common to most politicians.  If being a liar renders a politician ineligible, the Oval office, governors office, Congress and state houses would be pretty quiet places with lots of empty seats.

Too bad, you have such a diifficult time thiniking outside the box. Everything with you is either black or white. The question can the word HOPE be considered a threat. You never answered the simple example of how your "employee" would view your use of the word HOPE in the example. Would the "employee" feel that your use of the word HOPE was a threat to stop renting a $400/day car if they wanted to continue working for your company?

Let me answer it for you, if the employee valued their job they would rent a compact going forward.

End of discussion........

Goofy, it's not thinking outside the box....it's wishful thinking bordering on delusion.  You and Comey apparently disagree.  As he stated under oath he was never pressured by anyone to drop an investigation which is consistent with the other three that testified.  I understand how devastated you are and your deisre to grasp for anything poisitive out of this whole thing but it is useless.  Onto the next subject to feed your TDS.

Oh, and one other point that would be news to you and other left wing nuts because of your ignorance of the Constitution.  POTUS is the chief prosecutor and has every legal right to demand that an investigation be halted just as any chief prosecutor does and routinely do using their own discretion.  It may not be politically smart (ala Nixon) but it is perfectly legal and constitutional.  And if their subordinate doesn't follow their direction they can and should be fired.  But alas, Trump didn't even go that far with Comey after the investigation of Flynn proceeded....as it does today.  And this is especially the case given that Comey told him on 3 separate occassions that Trump was not the subject of any investigation.  If Trump had been under investigation it may be more problematic but still within his legal right as the chief prosecutor.....politically dumb but still perfectly legal.
