Subject:   Illinois going bankrupt?!?!?
Date:   6/22/2017 10:59:15 AM

Lot of chatter about the pending bankruptcy of the state of Illinois (which is only allowable if approved by Congress).  Heh, years of Democrat control and they finally realized they have run out of other people's money.  Some highlights of their fiscal insolvency....or low lights if you actually live there.  $251B in unfunded public union govt employee pension liability.  Hasn't passed a budget for years.  Bond holders are planning for bankruptcy and asking for federal govt bailouts.  Moody's keeps dropping their ratings to the lowest of nay state which increases borrowing costs.  They may even lose their lottery as a result of their fiscal mess.  They continue to lose businesses and taxpayers to other better run, lower tax states.

And the democrat legislature wants to raise taxes by $5B, despite already being one of the highest tax states in the country!!  I feel sorry for the GOP governor as he calls a special session of the Democrat controlled legislature.  The GOP has proposed a budget that combines some tax increases and budget cuts, is balanced and has been passed by the state Senate.  Dems are not interested in fixing the state where most of the problem arises from lavish govt union pensions (i.e., they don't want to bite the hands that feed them zillions in campaign cash).   Republicans do not have this worry.......but they don't have any control either.  I would think the people of Illinois might get it and vote differently but I am smarter than that.  They just screw up their own states and then move elsewhere and vote for the same fiscal insanity.  You just can't fix stupid.
