Details seem to be coming out about the malfeasance and potentially criminal acts of Bernie's wife and potentially the Bern himself.  Some facts to ponder.  She was hired in 2004 as college president when Bernie was a congressman with the idea she would save the struggling college.  No idea about her quals for the job but her connections were unassailable.  

So she eventually came up with the brilliant idea to buy a $6.5M piece of land to relocate the college.  Only hitch was she had to show $2.5M in donations to get the loan.  Bingo, mission accomplished......except for the alleged fraud part.  Turns out that the FBI, who is investigating, determined that she in fact had only raised less than $700K and appears to have made up the rest.  One example was some high wealth individual supposedly committed $1M.  The only problem was that when she was contacted by the FBI she had no idea what they were talking about.  Several other "donors" likewise denied any such donations.  Bingo....fraud and racketeering.

And then there is the Bern himself.  Turns out the bank claims that the Senator's office, whatever that means, strong armed them to make the loan to the college.  Well, well.....influence peddling for personal benefit.  What a shocking revelation.....not!

How did it turn out for the college?  Not so good.  Her promises to the Board of Trustees that this move would increase enrollment and they would be rolling in the dough didn't happen...not even close.  So in 2011 she was canned and paid over $200K in severance.  Good money if you can get it from a failing college.  Some time thereafter the college goes belly up due to its crushing debt service obligations and closes down.  

And it gets even more interesting.  Apparently as the news of the investigation was getting out the college was burglarized in mid 2016 with no evidence of a forced entry.  Among the items stolen were computers, external hard drives and the college's main server.  Called an inside job and eliminated all the evidence on their systems.  A coincidence I am sure.

No wonder Bernie retreats to one of his many homes when he is asked about the investigation.  And no wonder they have both lawyered up.  Methinks he and his left wing nut wife will need lawyers....lots of them....and good ones to boot.

Bernie has never held a real job.  His first salary was as mayor of some podunk town.  All good liberal communists learn to live off the honest hard working people
