Macho Mitch is a fool thinking he could pass healthcare with a plan from a committee with no woman. Three woman sank the bill. What a silly game to play...Susan Collins from Maine was the former Maine Insurance Commissioner. Obamacare needs fixing not repealing. Maybe, now the two parties will do what Trump said he was going to do...come up with a beautiful tremendous healthcare plan.

"When this whole health-care saga started a few months ago, Senate Republican leaders originally blocked all five GOP women from negotiations for their bill. And on Tuesday, three Republican women sank leaders' last-ditch effort to do something toward their promise to repeal and replace Obamacare.

Women, in other words, were notable bookends in Republicans' inability to pass a health-care bill."

I read in the same section where it provides for Social Security, Medicare, and bailing out Freddy Mac and Fannie Mae.

Goofy, it was the following GOP Senators that sank the bill.  Susan Collins, Mike Lee, Rand Paul and Paul Moran.  And in fact it was really the announcement by Lee and Moran that prevented it from getting to the floor for amendments.  Now I know that liberals see gender as fluid but as far as I can tell three of those four Senators are actually genetically and self identified as males.  Susan Collins was a no from the get go and she has been consistent.

You need to stop believing what you read in the WaPo.  It will make you appear smarter.......but only appearance wise.

You believe what you want to believe and I'll believe the truth. The Right has been putting out fake news for the past 8 1/2 years to repeal and replace. Your defense for the Right is actually funny....... It is not over as Trump is still pushing for a plan which he has no idea what is included or excluded. He can screw the little tile and cabinet guy but his own party can see trough him. The Art of the Deal only works for Trump when he holds the purse string. He keeps changing his plan every 12 hours.

The time is here for the good of the country to fix it with both parties working together. Bite the bullet if you relly want to make America Great Again.

I have said before. I consider myself to be a caring person and I support finding ways to help people who truly have needs beyond their ability to meet certain unexpected circumstances. I am amazed at the number of low income assistance programs that are available to help poor and impoverished people. In addition to the assistance offered by the Federal Government, all States offer assistance in some form or fashion to residents who may be struggling. In addition, there are over 1100 Community Action Agencies across the country that provide low and moderate income families with various services. With that being said, I don't beleive it is the responsibility of the American taxpayers to underwrite medical insurance for everyone. There are over 90 million Americans who are not in the labor force. How many of these have made choices of accepting generous welfare benefits in lieu of working and receiving income that might make it possible to obtain medical insurance? We all are forced to make choices in how we spend our income. Why should I help pay for someone elses medical insurance when they elect to find other more "important" uses for their income?                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                 While sitting here typing this, one of our Congressmen was on TV discussing our Food Stamp Program. He said there are over 47 million people on food stamps and over 40 million of them are obese. So now we have an "obesity" problem. Seeing that reminded me that just yesterday I was checking out at Walmart and there was a woman with two baskets that were overflowing with at least 10 boxes of cereal and bag after bag of snacks, soft drinks, etc. Also, I live in Montgomery nearby the Wind Creek Casino & Hotel and the traffic is steady, and at times really jammed up. Again, just one of the choices one can make on where to spend their income. Am I contributing to someone's "health insurance" while they are rolling the "dice"?

Truth I guess is in the eyes of the WaPo and NYT despite all the fake news they have been putting out and getting caught.  You are the perfect example of moral relativism......truth is whatever you like.  It was Lee and Moran that killed repeal and replace.  That's a fact. Collins and Paul were always a no.  The others would have let it get to the floor of the Senate for amendments.  Reality is such a hard thing for you to accept.

Having said that, I will agree that those that voted for repeal and replace knowing Obama would veto that are now balking are the inconsistent ones.  But on this issue, Lee and Moran killed it.  That's a fact.
