Goofy, glad you have the right priorities while millions of people are suffering from this historic storm and flooding.  I'll be sure to tell my employees in Houston that have lost their homes and all their possessions that you and many on the left and the Never Trumpers are focused on Melania's shoes.  I am sure they will be comforted by your concerns about her footwear.  Rest assured while you and others gnash your teeth about her shoes, or Trump's hat or whether he effused enough empathy, the sane people in this world are doing something to alleviate the suffering of our fellow man.

Note to all those suffering from TDS, you really, truly need to seek professional mental health care.  You are sick, twisted, demented people with tortured souls and have lost all semblance of decency and humanity.  I would say shame on you, but when you lack any sort of moral compass, standards of behavior or sense of right and wrong shame is not an emotion you can feel.

However, people, let's keep our eye on the ball. What potus does or doesn't do in a natural disaster is meaningless. The federal government should do absolutely nothing until specific assistance is requested by the state.

Fema is a total waste of resources and money. Think back...before hurricane Andrew in early nineties the Fed's let states take care of disasters until money or equipment like helicopters were needed from feds. Then, during Andrew the communist democrats realized they could further cause of totalitarian government by lying and saying Bush senior was not doing enough, and forcing massive enlargement of fema down throats of citizens.

Most people have no idea how massive fema has become. It is wasting billions of dollars a ytear, and it accomplishes nothing that the individual states can't do. Fema should be abolished.

Heck, even John King of CNN was taken aback by the cheap shots........methinks he won't be there much longer or will be required to provide a critique of the crease in Trump's pants as penance for his sin of stating the obvious.  The media, the left and the NeverTrumpers are showing themselves to be what they are, cruel, mean spirited petty partisans with zero honesty or decency.  If Trump found a cure for cancer the nightly news would be filled with stories about all the doctors and nurses losing their source of income, the closing of cancer centers and all the lost jobs and how all these people living longer, happier lives will only cause more global warming.

Southern Baptist often get a bad rap because of conservatism and Bible thumpers (fair) but as a SB (that too) I am PROUD of the Diaster Relief teams all across this nation.  Alabama Baptists have a strong presence and I know South Carolinas teams are very strong.  You can spot them washing clothes, serving meals, sawing trees, you name it.  Most of their trailers are yellow.

Likewise Catholic Churches across the country are mobilizing to help with disaster relief, especially those in Louisana that know first hand the effects of this kind of storm.  This is when Americans really shine.....well except for the leftists that feel they don't need to do anything because they advocate for big govt and givt can do everything for us, right?  Especially since they use other people's money instead of theirs.

I think the outreach has been amazing.  As someone said, this is what America is, not Charlottesville.  I don't see any of the groups from the Charlottesville incident doing anyhthing.  BLM is probably upset because the Texan are getting everything and for free and they are probably thinking how they can get in on it.  I saw a picture of some of their breathen looting a store.  Why waste a crisis when you can get free Air Jordans and flat screen TVs? 

Let me say one thing about FEMA.  I know they got a lot of bad press, but the faulit is not all theirs.  They used to be a stand alone organization, but in the 90's they were folded into Homeland Security which made it hard for them to do anything without a "mother, may I?"  HS has the highest level of dissatisfaction among their employees.  I'm not saying they haven't done a lot of hosed up stuff - like the trailers, but it is not 100% their fault.  When they stood alone, their had their own budget and they had their ability to buy what they believed them needed and not go through some procurement office.  I was in a class with 2-3 poeple from FEMA and they were totally disgusted with the agency's response to Katrina. 

As far as the criticism of Malania  and Trump.  No one wants to give either of them credit.  Yes, she was wearing heels when she left Washington, but she had sneakers in TX.  The media criticized her FLOTUS hat - which may not have been her idea, but in insistence of the secret service.  Trump will never do anything right as far as the left is concerned.  If he had gone to the worst areas, they would have said he was taking away from the rescue mission, or that he was photo-opping with citizen affected, and blah, blah, blah.  So he goes to Corpus so as not to disrupt, and the media is all over him for not speaking with any citizens affected, they didn't like his speech (too much like a campaign speech).  He is damned if he does, damned if he doesn't.  I read an article today that Chelsea Clinton wrote on instagram about how she went on a tour of Russia and never saw Putin's office, whereas, Ivanka when on a tour in 2006 and actually sat in Putin's chair (he was not there)  I mean, 2006!!!!  I'm convinced that her big "sin" is the fact that she is smart, beautiful, and can handle herself with world leaders.  And then she had the audasicity to actually sit in for her father at the "big table" while he was out of the room at the Summit.  If anyone knew anything, they would know that it is not usual at all for someone to sit in the principles seat if he has to leave the room or is in a meeting.  Shocking!!

A stalled hurricane means certain people need to leave first.  The lowest lying places.  No brainers.

The powers that be see you driving to work, driving home.  The position of everyone with a cell phone can be tracked, traced, and even

worse stored for several years.  Combine that with cameras on the streets converting license plate data to ascii with the location and 

time.

No problem to let you know to leave where you are.  We'll just call you at work and say not to bother going home.

So you would call/text/email any phone in the geographical flooding cells and all cell phones whose address of registration is in a flooding

zone.

If your phone is on, it lights up red, yellow or green and suggests places to go if red or yellow. Green stay put. Tap the location and you get directions. Not sure what roads are passable?  Your map has impassable road sections marked.  Pregnant? That's on the special needs page.

Government would not allow someone else to do it - see legislation introduced to stop the cajan navy in New Orleans recently during a flood.  Gotta get a permit to help people.... 

Like I said though - they learned from the evacuation traffic jams in the past not to evacuate but to shelter in flood zones so that interstates would not get congested.  Better to not be able to see cars under the water then to see lots of them stuck on the interstate above water.

If there was such an app the people who already made plans to leave would have the app and would be preparing or in progress by the time it turned yellow/red, the people who waited for someone to remind them to download the app to see what color their area is are still sitting on the couch with water up to their rears and will still have to be rescued.
