I am quite disappointed with the lake level. We bought this house in Feb,being told by the realtor the water will be in front of our home from April- early Oct. we came back for closing late April/ early May and the water in my finger was beautiful, it to our surprise,we went on vacation to NY from 8/25,& when we return Aug 7, it was half GONE! Is this the normal? Feel i was lied to,and very disappointed. Is there a way to find out why they have been taking our water so early? My neighbors say it’s been happening earlier and earlier every year. Can’t we fight this?

Welcome to your Federal gubment in action.  It appears TVA does not follow the rule curve on Lake Norris.  If you look at the top of this page...click on"US Lakes".....next you'll see a list states....click on TN....scroll down to Lake Norris and click on it....now look for a small box toward the top of page that says "Lake Level"...click where it says "click here"...and you will see the Rule Curve Graft for Lake Norris.

The shaded yellow area is the level TVA is supposed to maintain, but you can see that TVA has been violating the Rule Curve the past few years.  Click on the various years at bottom of graph to see the trend.  Go talk to a couple of the marinas to learn more about why TVA is lowering two months early.  Marinas will know, it kills there business.

Damn - and I thought Logan Martin was bad off - Looks like they can not keep close to the rule curve at all.  I thought Logan Martin was bad for being a flood area and the last few years of drought.

Looks like for some reason there is a consistant pull down in July.  I would get with local marinas to find out what is going on water wise - and if it is a standard you may have a case that they lied to you to get you to purchase.
