I'm beginning to think that Roy Moore may not be the best person to represent Alabama in the US Senate.

I'm still not completely sure,however.

What'cha think?

Couple of interesting observations......understand I don't like either Moore or Strange:

1.  No one outside Alabama understands why Alabama voters rejected Strange.  I don't understand why the media hasn't published info about the Strange/Bentley sell out deal so Bentley would avoid prosecution in return for Strange's appointment to the Senate.  Why?

2.  Moore got elected because people simply rejected the Strange deal.  Why have the RINOs jumped on board with Strange...while knowing full well he was a marked man.  McConnell pulled the most stupid support for Strange and he had to know the history.  Could this whole effort to prevent the election of Moore be the workings of McConnell?  Are RINOs willing to give up control of the Senate?

3.  My proposal is simple.  Every Representative and Senator should have to take a lie detector test about their illicit sexual contacts from the age of 18 till today.  Touched, feelie, grab it, pay for it, whatever......fail...fired....get outta tha swamp.  How many Congress slugs do you think could pass??

Oh, BTW, I hate all dimokraps too!!

I hate to say this, but I do not think 30% of government would pass.  IMHO

Believe me, if you are really interested in getting reasoned and reasonable advice this forum IS NOT the place to seek it!

I'm not a fan of Moore, not becuase of these women coming  forward, but the other things he has done.  I honestly think I am going to sit this one out, unless there is a viable write iin candidate.

I really don't understand why the majority of Alabamians think Moore is a good candidate.  I want to know where all the smart people are without a lot of baggage.  Moore will get into his "state's rights" mode and be generally agitate.  I really want a representative who will represent his constiuents and most important, be willing to work on legislation and help Trump do his thing.

Electing to "sit this one out" is not really an intellectually honest decision. Roy Moore or Doug Jones will be the Junior senator representing

us in Alabama. If you don't vote and others do vote, it is the same as casting one half vote for each candidate. It may make you feel as if

you are washing your hands of the whole mess but in actuality you are ceeding the decision to others.

Is he the best person for the job? Absolutely not. Is he the best of the choices we have? Absolutely!

I am still voting for him with the hopes that he gets a primary opponent in 4 years when this term runs out. Moore has run in 4 statewide elections and numerous local elections in the 40 years since this crap supposedly happened. What we are wins sing is the Harvyization of the national democratic party. They know the racist label has been overused to the point of being counterproductive to throw that label out there so they capitalize on the sex Scandal currently plaguing many of their fellow travelers in the media. Had they drug up one accuser I might have believed it more easily, but to drag up so many seems like a stretch to me.

I find it hard to believe that a sitting DA was running around Etowah county hitting on, dating and attempting to rape a whole bevy of underage girls and nobody says anything. I don't buy it. It just shows me how corrupt the national Dems have become. Once again they show that the only way they can win is by cheating, but I still predict a double digit win for Moore. Lots of us Alabama voters is woke!

Uodate- as I was typing this a segment ran on fox saying Moore was supposedly banned from the local mall for hanging around and perving on young girls. Who among us believe that could be true and not have been a Scandal at the time? Not me. I actually lived in Gadsden at the same time all this was happening. I was young but don't remember any such Scandal. Plus democrats ran this state in the 70's. If there was any basis in fact for these allegations they would have been exploited by the Dems decades ago.    A sitting DA banned from a local mall for perving on  young girls... No way that went unreported at the time.

I wish Moore would just resign or the GOP in Alabama would pull a Torrecelli and move the special election until they can resolve this.  But the main reason Moore, a seriously flawed candidate even before these allegations came out, won the primary is that the GOP voters in Alabama are sick and tired of the ineffectual GOP in Congress and seeing Strange as one of that crowd.  Had these allegations come up prior to the primary I doubt he would have won but who knows.

Do I suspect the timing of all this?  Of course, that is politics and I am sure these allegations were known before the primary and the WaPo waited to the last minute to drop this bomb.  Does anyone really think that the mainstream media doesn't run the Democrat party?  Why should we be surprised that they are all in for helping the Dems win this seat?  Complaining about it is like complaining about the weather.  We just have to be smarter and its a shame the GOP could not find a better non-establishment candidate than Moore.  Even more of a shame that the establishment promoted Strange because that probably hurt him more than helped him.

If they had to pass a lie detector test they would all pass because all politicans do of any flavor is lie 98% of the time when the truth would do them better.

if we had to empty the halls of congress of criminals, pedophiles, rapists and people who are there for power or money - Washington would be empty.  It would resemble a post apocolypse world where the plants would take over, anyone remember the origional logans run?  similar but with even less people.

The reason that good people do not run is what you are witnessing right now and have for the last 20 or so years in politics.  It is getting much worse and not better.  Good people who may or may not have said or done anything in their youth, told someone she was pretty, got mad at someone and said the N word 35 years ago.  Any number of things will come to light causing people who go about their daily lives to have their lives and famiies destroyed.  Why would anyone with a good heart and soul even want to do that to themselves?

Claims of racism is not working anymore, now its back to sex misconduct because with Hollywierd right now its the in thing and most do not survive the claim.  Bill Clinton had a long history of sexual misconduct alligations - but the D's dont mind that at all - because that was all just fake news or a right wing conspiracy, they are willing to overlook it.

At some point it is no longer about helping their fellow man, or making society better, politics will destroy the best of intentions and people.

This leaves only the people who want money, power and control to run and leaves us with the lesser of evils syndrome.

It sucks, our country is on the path to moral and ethical decay and I fear that it is too far gone.  All we can do is watch it die and rebuild it better then before.  If I am wrong and it can right itself that is wonderful -

Voting for Moore keeps Jones out of the Senate with his views on gun control and abortion.  Moore will not survive long with countless hearings etc once elected and someone else will have to be appointed, but at least it is not Jones.

I agree with you but I do think if he agrees to resign if he wins then that would blunt the write in campaign and he would likely win.  Whether he will do the right thing, regardless of the merit of the allegations, is the real question.  It may be unfair to him but at some point he needs to think about what is best for the country.  Having someone represent Alabama that is so antithetical to their values is not a good solution, even if it is for only two years.   Moore needs to realize the damage has been done and do what is best for the country even if it means he will have to sacrifice his own political ambitions.  And if over the next two years he can prove these allegations are false he can run again.  Maybe not fair to him but that is the reality he is facing.  Is this all about him or not?

If guilty he will fit right in, if innocent dont think it matters his days are numbered if he claims to be willing to step down, or whatever  he is now the small fish in the bass-o-matic of Saturday night live fame.

More than half a dozen interviewees independently named one California congressman for pursuing female staffers; another half dozen pointed to a Texas congressman for engaging in inappropriate behavior. CNN is not naming either of those lawmakers because the stories are unverified.
"Amongst ourselves, we know," a former Senate aide said referring to sexual harassers and their behavior. "There is a certain code amongst us, we acknowledge among each other what occurs."

Some stay silent; others tolerate bad behavior: 'There's a little bit of a sex trade on Capitol Hill'

Chances are better that since they can not find anyone to accuse him of anything in the past 25 years or since he got married they are afraid that he will spoil their little party with the interns and other women in the house since from what I read at CNN even the lady congresspeople are not off limits.

Kennedy drowned a woman. He stayed in the Senate, got a Portuguese water dog, and named him Splash.

We will have to listen to the media, listen to Roy Moores sound bites to deny, his commericals to elect him for weeks still.  I've never been one to put much stock with what has alledgedly happened when someone was much younger.  I do think people can mature and change.  And I don't think women my age ought to be telling tales 30-40 years later.  The culture was different then - there wasn't a lot of talk about sexual harassment, so if a man called you honey, or complimented your clothes or even rubbed your shoulder, a woman might find it annoying, but no one was running anywhere to report it (mostly because the bosses were all men then too).  I believe he may have touched someone inappropriately and then told them no one would believe her, because he was a DA.

Then the thing with Trump and Sessions and these meettings.  I've been in meetings where somone threw something wild out on the table and no one touched it.  IN all of these accusations, can't find one piece of evidence that Trump told Papadoupolis to pursue his contacts.  Papadoupolis was a campaign hanger on - an "advisor" but I will bet no one can find a stategy or an idea that was acted upon.  Remember Hilary had an "advisor" that sent her information from Libya?  This is Washington and everyone is angling to get close to power.  That is he Washington deal. I knew people that would would over their mother's with cleats to get 5 minutes of face time.

And this new Congressional thing about they want to change the law so a nuclear stike has to be approved by Congress "because they are afraid that Trump is "unstable" and might get mad and launch against NK.  Are they kidding?  Bravado is one thing - tough talk to prove that you are not intimidated.  But Trump is a child of the cold War and mutually assured anilation.  How could a sane person think that Trump would just get mad and launch???  If NK has incoming, don't know about you, but I want Trump pushing the buttons, inputting the codes or whatever else.

And there you have the issue - sanity on the left is hard to find these days with TDS.

I agree if NK launches and its heading anywhere from the tipping over and capsizing Guam, Hawaii, or central USA - start with tomahawks into downtown and if a mushroom appears anywhere turn NK into glowing green glass.

I am tired of being pushed around by two bit petter thugs, bowing and giving tyrants money.  Armed forces stationed the world over in places that hate us for being there.  They need to come home and let these pissant countries fall apart.

And what incredible arrogance on the part of these officials. Who says their judgement is any better than trumps.

I had grave concerns about trusting Obama with the suitcase. He was a traitor and a tyrant. He hated the usa. But no one suggested he be circumvented in the chain of command.

Phil, I couldn't agree more.

And we didn't have to worry about Obama with the codes - he didnt have the, er, "intestinal fortitude" to launch.  He would be apologizing to NK and letting them continue to refine their nuclear program.

Good thing he never had to get a real job.  Let's face it, all of the Kennedys had behavioral issues.  And their old man had the money to pay everything off.
