I was an early Trump supporter - even before he became the nominee.  I liked the fact that he was not a politician, and I thought he would bring a refeshing honesty to Washington.  I thought that as a businessman, he would get things done.  I agreed with him that most Agreements we have with other countries do not favor our interests.  I liked his stand on illegal immigration.  And I thought he was right in cancelling Obama care to put in a better system that would mean affordable rates for everyone.

But I am disappointed in Trump.  Not that I would have voted for Hillary Clinton - she would have been a disaster for this country on so many levels.  But the Trump I see now wasn't able to fix the health care system (which I think reflects poorly on Republicans.  They had 8 years to come up with something), he engages in petty squabbles in tweets, he's caught up in an investigation,  he hasn't done anything yet about North Korea, and I am not at all sure about his tax plan.  Seems to me it relies too much on Trickle Down economics which as been shown not to work.

I watched a segment with Warren Buffet the other day.  He pointed out that our corporations have been making record profits, but that they are not passing it down to their workforce.  And he is right.  So about the current plan to cut taxes (while increasing the deficet) is not likely to do anything for jobs and salaries.

I realized the other day that I'm beginning to feel like our President is a nincompoop.  Maybe it would be better if he were removed from office.  I like Mike Pence.  And I like the Department heads that Trump put in place.  Trump is not draining the swamp - he's merely changing the color of the swamp.  I'm off Trump.  I still repsect the Office of the President, but not the man who is sitting there.

Well said.  At 100 days, when the media demanded that there be something to show, I simply said "100 days without Hillary"  Enough said.

I don't think he will change his method of operation, or the tweets.  Sadly.  He has to act with Dems, GOPs and media standing right in front of him, hell bent on finding something on which to "write him up".

I said earlier that I thought the powers would "Guy Hunt" Trump before it was over.  The business man will just get entrapped in the swamp weeds, and they will find a way to oust him.  Trump is 100 times smarter than Guy Hunt so it will be harder, but will happen.

Pence will be good.

You two are writing Trump off for the way he's doing things.  Judge him by what he's getting done.  If you think that he will be impeached and convicted, then you are convinced there is no hope for this country.  Trump is the only hope.  MAGA!

I too am dissappointed in Trumps childish demeanor but we can only choose from whats offered. Lost all respect for Buffet in the last few years most of his analysis seem to run along party lines. The corporations that will be helped out with this plan are the small shops like the one I owned for 35 years. under 50 employees but employ the majority of the nations workforce. I'm not totally happy with the plan either but if passed our GDP will be over 4% by the time 2020 elections are here. The Deficit hawks can't get it though their heads that the CBO based their anlysis on Obamas weak 1.9%. The increased GDP will more than pay for the bill and then mabe we can see real tax cuts in second term.

Hound, as a lifelong, card carrying member of the swamp, I would think you should know that defeating the gators, snakes, wild hogs, and other parasites takes time.  I'm extremely pleased that he has disassembled some of o-BAMA's legacy and is close to the tax bill and destroying oBAMMIECARE.  Of course, the dimokrap snakes will continue to fight him at every move, but his successes far exceed his failures.....just keep it up.  If he could get rid of McConnell and get a real leader in the Senate.....WOW!!

I'm not worried about him draining the swamp.  He's really drained the State Department, and I suspect it is the same in some the other, less heard from agencies.  And I will give him credit for being more engaged with Congress.  But I think he more worried about Flynn turning than he is letting on.  I don't know if Flynn has anything or not.  It wouldn't suprise me to see Jared Kushner  in trouble.  He'll likely take the fall for Trump, if there is anything there.

I am tired of hearing "very, very" and "really, really" .  I am tired of him  going back and trying to change what he said.  For example:  he copped to what he said to Billy Bush initially and now he is going back saying that isn't his voice.  What?  No reason for him to try to reinvent history.  And to get into little hissies with late night talk show hosts, the idiot father of that UCLA player.  And he won the election, so stop beating his chest.  I guess I had really hoped that he would be all business.

“Strictly business” has never been a part of Trump's persona.  Like all politicians he is a narcissist.  BTW, narcissism plays a very heavy role in the makeup of 99% of politicians and sexual molesters....they both share many traits.  Trump's key to success will be his ability to ignore the negatives around him and move forward toward the goal.  Look at his history.  He has been down and out numerous times, but then rises to the top, yet again.  He is a big mouth who touts his successes....and most of us wish he would just shut up and work, but we must understand his makeup.  The most surprising thing about him, to me, is the success he has had raising his children.  By all appearances, he played a big role in their upbringing which shows us a lot about his commitment to others.

Regarding his children, I just read an article that said he gives all the credit to his wives, being a hands off dad.  But I guess at some point he changes that, because they all seem to enjoy it.

Of course he is a narisscist - and the scary thing about that is narsisscists will do anything to draw you in, so he can get the adulation he so desperately seeks, but at some point, once they have you, the devaluing process starts and then the big drop comes.  Narisscists are basically at heart, afraid and hurt and hate themselves,  and they make up for it by convincing themselves and acting like they are superior to everyone else, and arrogant about it.  There is a very specific pattern they follow and they ultimately hurt anyone that comes into their sphere.  Everything has to be their way and they are control freaks, who have to have everything their way.  I can see that in what happened with Flynn, and it appears with Rex Tillerson.  He probably likes Kelly, who keeps everything under control and makes Trump feel safe.  But I wonder if at some point he will devalue that relationship too.

I really thought that Trump would become a Reagen-esque figure.  Reagan was not a great President and a lot of his policies were not sound, but he made Americans feel good about being Americans again after the Jimmy Carter years and the Iranian hostage crisis.  If nothing else, Reagan was a great orator, much like FDR who got Americans through WWII

What I find a little scary is that you have narcissist Trump tangling with narcissist Kim Jung Un.  I agree that we must stand up to him, and I like that Trump is doing that, but the name calling on both sides is tricky.  At some point, someone is going to want to win and vanquish the other.  Just think how much trouble the world would be in if they ever decided to join together.  Stranger things have happened.

OBTW, I have been reading a memoir by a young woman who escaped from NK, and she says that the people of NK are so brainwashed and always refers to the "American Bastards".

Hound is returning to reason!  Thank whatever Gods there be and may the illuminations and return to reason grow and spread...hopefully, in Alabama at least, before next Tuesday!

I don't know if I am "seeing the light".  I still think it was the right time for a Republican President.  I'd just like for Trump to stick to business.

I agree with you that now was the time for a Republican President. It was bad enough during the election having to think where our country would be if Hillary had been elected. But after all of the recent revelations I "cringe" even more just thinking about what Hillary would be doing since she had proven that laws that apply to we "deplorables" don't apply to her and her elite followers.

Hilary would have been a disaster.  She causes a scandal wherever she goes.  I do believe she has comitted criminal and unethical decisions.  She is a ____ that is only out for herself.  We only know the tip of the iceberg as far as her campaign, and the things that were whitewashed through her Foundation.

I still think Trump was the best in a field of "meh" Republican canidates.

A friend and I were talking yesterday. Both of us feel that this country will go socialist.  Hopefully not in our lifetime, but somehow, we've managed to raise at least 2 generations of socialists, who don't want to have to work and want the government to provide everything for them.  It will be a sad day.
