Doug Jones campaigned on the fact he would work with Shelby in the interest of Alabama. If his votes don't reflect that it could be made an issue in the states that will be in play in 2018. This loss could possibly help increase the numbers in the Senate in the long run.

I wonder if Shelby is interested in working with Jones. Cooperation goes both ways.

I think Shelby is going to have a harder election next time and/or a primary which he has not faced a real challenge in some time.

Would not be suprised if he decides to retire after this one.

I would be interested to see who would primary him. I don't ever want to vote for Shelby again.

Shelby is 81, will be 87 at the time the next election comes around.  Who would elect him?  Would you vote for someone who is 87 years old?

At this point in my life I'm going to take a stand and say I will only vote one more time for someone older than me. And never for someone that old. Haha
