You are exactly right IMO. Any non controversial Republican would have easily beaten Jones. Hope the Dems don’t get used to that seat.

I don't even watch Meet the Press anymore.  Chuck Todd is so far to the left of center, he had no credibility with me.

Everyone here knows that the only reason that Doug Jones won, was due to his opponent.  I would have voted, and voted Republican if the Republicans could have presented us with a reasonable candidate.  Doug Jones is saying this is the "new South".  The win was because of Roy Moore himself, and because he got out the African America vote.  Did anyone see that Terry Shuler is saying that the vote on the tax reform should not be held until Doug Jones is on board? Yeah, like that will happen.

I'm still trying to figure out where I will fall in the new tax scheme - I starting to think I'm not poor enough or rich enough to get any benefit.

If your net income is less than $100,000 You should get about $400 - $2000 more refund than you did last year. The dem propagandists act like its unfair that people who pay fewer taxes will get a smaller tax cut than those who pay more taxes. It takes a special kind of stupid to follow the democrat lack of logic.

It's not stupidity on their part, it is actually quite brilliant.  They know there are a lot more voters in the lower income bracket than high income and so they routinely appeal to class envy as a way to garner votes. And they also work tirelessly to get more and more of those people dependent on the govt for something so they can demagouge anything Republican as stealing from the poor and giving to the rich.

And they can count on the 0.5%ers to go along because most of them either live off the govt teet and/or have the financial wherewithal to avoid paying taxes at the high rates.  The stupid ones are the middle and upper middle class (the backbone of the economy) falling for this class envy crap simply because they don't feel rich.  You could take 100% of the income of the top 1% and it won't run the Federal govt for even a month.  The middle and lower middle class is where all the money is and this tax bill will save them lots on their taxes.  And they are the ones that will benefit most from an improved economy although the working poor will also see a big boost.  And yes, the 1%ers will also benefit.  You know , a win win for everyone except the big government types.
