I assume he is going to be running a Server with speeds like that and needing a static IP.   Cable internet is about the only service that I know that would offer that fast a download and sort of doubt it is available on Lake Martin.  What part of the Lake is this going to be and why does he need that fast a download if you don't mind me asking ?

Charter offers cable-based internet in the Parker Creek area, but I am not sure they offer a static IP option.  Haven't asked because don't care.  A guaranteed 300 Mbps is probably more of a problem, as cable speeds deteriorate as the active user numbers escalate.  AT&T laid fiber along Coosa 20 but I haven't been approached with an option to make use of it. We are off Bywater road and there is no apparent spur in our area.

That fiber route down 20 was supposed to provide enhanced services, via AT&T, to the "upscale development" at the end of 20. No aggressive development so,, no services. Back to the 300Mbs cable service. I would hope that my service is not on the same route as this guys. When he fires up, everybody else will start buffering and balking..

I am curious regarding Charter's ability to guarantee 300 mbps on a cable based system. Agree that a 300 mbps draw on the typical cable run would negatively affect the rest of us paeons, but we don't know yet if the need is even in our area.  Let's hope not.
