First we had John Lewis and Maxine Waters saying they won't attend.....a pretty good start....but now we have the Rhinestone cowgirl herself, Frederica Wilson saying she won't be there either.  And her reason is absolutely perfect, "it would be an embarrassment".  Yes, you could not make that one up if you tried.  This is the congresswoman that goes around in sequined clothes with matching cowboy hat and who bragged about being so well known at the expense of a dead soldier.  Oh the irony......

I can think of quite a few others that won't be missed, quite a few actually.......

More political theatre.  They are doing what they always accuse Trump of doing - playing to their base.  And no one else will notice they aen't there.  In fact, perhaps the entire Black Caucus will stay home, and people can see who these people are.  

All of them need to quit Congress, because they aren't adding to anything, or doing anything while they hold the seat.

Hound, your gist is correct, but You are better than that.  Nobody ''accuses'' Trump of playing to his base...Trump absolutely always plays to his base.  He even makes it appear to be doing so even when he is doing something that harms his base.

I disagree that he always plays to his base, but even when he doesn't, he gets accused of that.  

I heard a suggestion today that for every Democrat who gives up his seat for the speech, let's give a veteran or a wounded warrior his/her seat.

I think that would be a fantastic idea as long as it is the member boycotting the speech sellects the veteran, wounded warrior or currently serving member of the military to sit in his or her seat!
