Wow, six layer cake with each layer a different color.

By the way, remember to ask the surgeon in the ER before they operate to safe your life if they are gay or lesbian. You sure don't want some damn gay doc saving your life. Hell, just eat the damn cake and quit worrying how someone lives their life. This is America, you seem to forget that.

Wow a California judge indicacted that people who bake cakes can live their lives without being forced to make something they disagree with. How American, that people have rights and not forced into liberal group think.  You seem to have forgotten that people who disagree with you, have the same rights as you oh grand and mighty dense GFY chit.

Why do bakers feel they have to get into the sexual preference and lifestyle in order to bake a cake?  It's just a cake, not an endorsement.  Blacks are also a minority in this country - do you think it is okay for them to refuse to bake a cake for a black customer, just based on their race?

Why can't people just be people, who they are?  I know quite a few gay people.  My beloved uncle was gay.  He and his partner lived quietely together for 40 years.  I can't imagine someone denying baking a cake for him.  He had legions of friends both gay and straight.

Most people are not the problem - its the minority of people who are going out of their way to force others to accept or do things that make them uncomfortable or go against their beliefs.

The handfull are going out of their way to find someone who does not see it their way, often passing local or closer acceptable alternatives  so that they can punish them in the courts and make them see it their way or get a payday because someone disagreed with them.

@ phil  & @ hound

Exactly.  Cake lady is not saying go to hell gays  -  she is saying go to hell activists wanting to use gubment power to force her caking.

Gubment is force, not reason.  So we should demand reasonable force.

If my Bible says it's wrong...........well it's wrong.  Don't force me to choose 'cause ya'll'l lose.

I have gay friends and love them ; everyone I have hugged is a sinner.  I ain't throwin' that first stone.

The cake makers objections that I have read about are not an objection to baking cakes for gays it stems from how the customer wants the cake to show a peticular event that they have religious objections to. All that I have seen said they have no objections to serving gays.

Are you suggesting they don't want to put a topper of the cake that depicts 2 gays???  They should just say we stock a limited supply of toppers. Hardware stores don't stock every nut and bolt made. Nor, does Home Depot stock every faucet made. I bought my faucet at Lowes cause HD did not carry it to use on a sink I purchased at HD.

If what you are saying is factual Rich, then I don't think God really cares it you buy your cake at one bakery and your topper from Amazon to keep everyone happy. Bake the cake but just don't stock the topper......

The customers are apparently wanting the cakes personalized commemorating the event acknowledging the couple. There in lies the rub.

when someone make the religious objection argument is this - how is the Christian behavior?  Aren't we supposed to love our neighbor as ourselves?  If I believe that God made man, then I assume that God made gay people too.

That's why I say it is just a cake.  It's not an endorsement - but then some people believe that it is a "choice" and I know for a fact that is just not true. Most gay people I know, would much rather be straight and not face the bias, the insults and sometimes the violence.  They are just people, doing the best that they can.

I don't think the government should force anything, but I think people that claim to be Christians, should remember Judge not that you should be judged.  And as the Pope said "who am I to judge?"
