Trump is unable to meet with kids and speak with character and feeling. He needs someone to give him talking points. Remember to say 'I hear you." It sounds good on TV.

Criticize the 17 year old kids but damn Trump is 70 and needs someone to feed him speaking points. Scary when you think of the suitcase.

There is nothing to be ashamed of having talking points.  He wanted to remind himself to let people know he was listening intently to what they were saying.  When you are on the spot, everyone uses talking points.  I've seen people with a script that says Hello, my name is______ and I'm here to talk about _____.  You've obviously never done much public speaking, other than on this forum, and from what I see, it's probably a pretty good thing.

What is pathetic is you and other left wing nuts criticism for the President’s ensuring he was prepared. So what if a staffer prepared the note?  What the he!! are they there for but to ensure their boss is prepared?  Looks to me like Trump did it right and you and the other lefty loons are grasping at straws, just to end up with the short one.

I was wrong.  I agree with talking points. A few key words on a piece of paper.  But, he needed complete statements written out. As President, he should be able to see a few word on a card and expand on it.  Come on the guy is the President. His problem is he can't speak from his heart.

The Right has accussed CNN of giving the kids questions to ask at the Town Meeting. Yet, they are willing to defend a President who is fed statements when speaking to the same  kids. Somethnig is wrong with this picture.

 In the past, I have spoken publically many times. I always had 1 3x5 card with key words that I wanted to cover. Nothing more.... I can't believe anyone has to write down  My Name Is....  If they have to write that down...they should be in the audience.

Ever heard Obama off the teleprompter?  And he is supposed to be so smart.  Don't know about you but I use notes when I give a talk or participate in a large group discussion.  No one has every accused me of being dumb.  It's actually quite wise to do so.  Also, how do you know that someone else gave him those words?  I make my own notes. 

You are the one that is pathetic and suffering from a serious and potentially debilitating mental illness.....TDS.  Get help Goofy before you become so deranged you drive your car into a barrier at the WH....when the President isn't even there.

Martini, I sure hope you don't have to write down complete statements and   could just jot down the words "your experience" and "feel safe". Or, may be you do need complete sentences that you can read as a result of a failed church eduction.

If he wrote them himself than it is even more pathetic that he can't take key words and develope them into a logical question or statement. Afetr all, he is the President.

Actually I use a combination. When I want to cover general topics I use keywords. When I have a critical point I want to make I write it out completely, try to memorize it and have it verbatim in my notes.  You must have not done much public speaking if you think this is unusual.

I agree.  I've done both.  Would it surprise you to know that if you tesify before a Congressional Committee, you have to have your entire statement written and copied.  it is distributed before you show up, and better damn well stick to the script, because if you don't you open yourself to a lot of questions you don't want to answer.  

But back to Trump, he or his staff had specific questions they wanted to pose, so they wrote them out.  I imagine they were preparing for a very emotional meeting.  

I have noticed that Trump haters just look for any minucia that they can find to criticize they do.  It's laughable really.  He gave an amazing speech today at the CPAC and covered a wide variety of topics.

I really think it's a psychiatric condition that is apparently afflicting Goofy and the govt media. Obama was barely coherent when he wasn't reading from a script but somehow Trump's notes are significant. I keep encouraging Goofy to seek help but as we all know, the first step is to admit your problem.
