We have entered a new phase in our existence.  Glorification of killers, Revenge, Instantaneous reports of violence, Shoot 'em up video games, and movies, and songs, "Hey I can be famous", "Watch This", Justification of Bullying, perhaps some mental illness but more just BY GOD I WILL-----this is where we are.  Will everyone flip and take action?  Not in the least.  Will a few here and there decide that is what they will do?  Absolutely.

So let's try some new methods and see if we can spot those who would do us harm (that will be hard), and, missing on that, keep them from entering our schools, and missing on that, have someone to meet them with fire power.  SAFE ZONES have only worked to help the shooter know the easy targets.  Do away with safe zones.  Let those reasonable folks who want to be armed, do so.

Will there be a mishap? Absolutely

Sadly it becomes a numbers game and if one teacher, or lunch lady, with a gun can keep the toll at 11 instead of 17, then I am for it.  Has anyone new to a gun misfired before?  Has anyone with much gun experience misfired?

His point is that an idiot in GA, who has not received any blessing from anyone, no training or approvals decided to take a gun to a "gun free zone" breaking multiple laws currently on the books was able to get through the metal detectors and fired off a shot in a classroom that did not hurt anyone. 

Since this was a pistol and not a AR15 that is acceptable in his mind since the AR15 is known to run out and murder everyone in reach with its 30 round clips and deadly bayonet lugs.  

Idiot probably dropped it.

Have started to see the list of guns that D's are wanting to ban.  Marlin 60 is on the list, called that one - gun 99% of everyone I grew up with had access to from probably 12 years old to shoot squirrels.  

And before GFY says that no one is calling for the ban on squrrel rifles

   If the media would stop endlessly  blowing these stories up 24-7  I believe it would cut down on the motovation to get a gun and become famous! Report the incident but don't give the perp's name. Don't interview everyone who knew him.  That is why when ever a    T V, newspaper or radio recieves a threat they never, never report it. They know that publicity encourages it.

   Passing laws are nice and they make the left thimk they have done to make the world safe. They seem to forget that criminals are in the business of violating laws! Why don't we just pass a law against muder? There! That should do it!

   In every case where there was armed resistance the shooting stopped as soon as the perp started receiving return fire! Other than that you just have to wait until he runs out of ammo.

So what?  Are you now going to report on every gun incident.  I suggest you start with Chicago and Detroit.  That should keep you busy.

Good point that if the media didn't blow up these incident and turn them into a cause celeb we wouldn't have copycats.  If no one ever reported on Columbine, except to say there was a shooting, and the details were kept private, do you think maybe at least half of all the incidents woud not have happened.  

This is just the kind of thing that feeds into the minds of the mentally ill.  I haven't seen any details about this GA shooting, other than it took place in a classroom and no students were present.  Did he take his own life?

One article indicated he smuggled the gun into the building in a computer case.  Must be something in the water in GA.
