The proposed gun control law would ban the sale of my 50yr 22 Marlin because it has a 19 shot magazine. These kids marching are showing what a poor education the have recieved or should I say what good indoctrination they have been given. Where will we be in a few years when they can actualy vote?

Whitman was on top of the Book Depository in Texas. He did almost all his killing in the first 30 min. The police did not have any long range rifles only a few .35 Remingtons. Students ran home - as one would expect in Texas -  and grabed their deer rifles and ringed the tower. Return fire kept Whitman's head down until a policeman and a civilian worked theit way up io kill him. .

1/  Charles Whitman (and I do remember him!) the UT shooter was hidden high in a tower and the stand-off lasted for a very long time (several hours if I remember correctly)...if he had an AR with a bump stock he could have completed his task in a couple of minutes!  Better still, considering his position, he could have probably taken out several hundred rather the pittance he did manage to murder!

2.  How in hell do you know the UT shooter was a Democrat other than the claim in the unsigned propoganda crap you posted?  If he was a Democrat so what and are you so stupid you do not realize that 40 years ago almost everybody in Texas (and Alabama) called themselves "Democrats" so they could vote in the primary for what was tantamount to election since there was usually no GOP candidate in the General.  And you talk about these kids being ''uneducated''!

3/  You state the Parkland kids for not being ''educated'' apparently for not knowing about the differences in guns.  In which of your high school classes did you learn all about the characteristics, history and uses of fire-arms?

4/  When these kids are old enough to vote (less than a year for many of them) they will probably do it in a hell of a lot more responsible way than you because, unlike you, they think for themselves and are NOT idiots!!

Did not need a gun course in school, was tought to hunt from about the age of 6.  I knew to respect firearms of all types.  They are not toys.  Schools can not and do not teach you everything in life.

I believe you learn about a person beliefs from who their detractors are sometimes. I'm am happy that you have comfirmed that premise.

I happen to know Whitmans family and went to school with the boys I do not know thier political leanings I was merely pointing out that you do not need a high magazine weapon to do massive damage as we've seen with bombings, planes, trucks ect. Blaming the weapon is a very simplistic and not effective way to stop killings in "Gun Free Zones".

I call the Kids "idiots" because they have shown absolutely no comprehension or knowledge of the existing laws. Also the point that the rally's all sound more like Anti Tump rally's. Where were they when Obama was in Office? It's pretty obvious that this is merely another attempt from the left to find "usable victims" that they hope will garner simpathy and there for not have their erroneous message challenged by thoughtful people.

I reference thier lack of education by a lack of basic knowledge about our constitution and the Bill of Rights, The same Bill of Rights that lets them go out and assemble to show their lack of understanding. 

The MSM is compicit in not showing where all the funding for these "grass root protest" is coming from. I'm sure that teenagers jumped for the opportunity for a free trip to DC and excused absences from thier responsibilities.

And thiis generation of all inclusion, diversity and acceptance of any and all genders was responsible for bullying this kid into submission since gradeschool.  How do I know you ask?  Listen to Emma Gonzalez' speech.  She admitted that they (students) "ostracized" him because of who he was.  Why?  No one came to his defense and requested assistance from those who could have possibly made a difference in this kid's life.  So the students in my opinion, are indeed to some extent culpable in creating the shooter, then the left uses the students and exploits the shooter in order to further their agenda, which make no mistake, is to repeal the Second Amendment.  You won't hear this take on CNN or MSNBC......

Having had a gun pulled on me when a local punk was beating his pregnant girlfriend and he pulled a gun on her when she locked herself his car, no I do not consider myself a tough guy, but the punk sat down in the grass till the cops got there when he realized I was on the phone with 911 and armed.

If you are willing to give up your guns to make others feel good, go for it - you deserve what you get when someone bad realizes you are a victim waiting to happen.

I will keep mine and protect myself and others as needed.  My firearms have never had to be fired at a human, but I am willing if forced.

The fact that you are willing to give up your rights willingly to "kids" who have been through something awful, what are you not willing to give up next time? 1st? 4th? 5th?  6th? 8th? 15th? 24th?

We know you are willing to compromise on your 2nd, so where do you draw the line when something bad happens to anyone in the world just because they are loud enough?

Please name one person or point to one post that has advocated for abolishing any right guaranteed by the constitution including the 2d amendment.  Justice Scalia, whom l assume you admired, pointed out that the 2d amendment like all are subject to reasonable restrictions!  Do you think the 2d amendment should be so open ended that you should have the right to own a hand held anti tank weapon?!

And guess what...the 2d amendment guarantees your right to bear arms...it does not guarantee the right to have unlimited access to ammo, or to not have a requirement for a license attached to ammo purchase, or that ammo will not be subject to taxation.  None of these actions would change your right to own a dame gun but Katy bar the door if anybody suggests any of them be implemented!

I agree with  armed and officers but am not sold on the idea of armed  teachers at this time. Deputizing former military makes sense to me. 

As to teachers, If they were to arm teachers, where do they keep the firearm duing classes? I can't seem to accept walking around with a pistol whiile teaching. Maybe, a lock box on the wall with a fingerprint required to open and an automatic call to 911 whenever it is opened without advance notice.

If I have the money, and can pass the appropriate back ground checks required - why should I not be able to purchase a anti tank weapon?  I assume it would be much like my explosives permit that I used to have to fill out yearly for the ATFE, allow anytime/anyday inspections by ATFE, yearly background checks, fingerprinting, proper inventory as to how much of what and an appropriate storage location for said explosives.

Reading about what passes for educators these days, I have to agree that arming teachers is a bad idea.  Most of them can not teach their subjects, keep their hands off of underaged students, keep politics out of classrooms, or are to busy trying to force social, sexual or political views on their students.  

I would not want these idiots armed.  I am sure much like with Trump's comments on immigration there are some good ones, but the bad ones are all we get to hear about in the news.
