It is a sight to behold.  What is driving this hysteria?  In my view it is one thing only.  Congressional seats are allocated based on population and left wing nuts know that if their illegal population is no longer counted as citizens they will lose seats, as they should.  This is reason enough to move forward with this change as they will no longer be able to game the system, especially in California.

And of course it may also expose the lie of only 11 million illegals in the country.  They fear that as well.

With the multitude of lawsuits on the horizon, I'm sure some liberal judge will rule that not counting illlegals as "citizens" is (drum roll)...illegal!!

Most liberals are suspicious of the census.  They think the information will be used to take away their "entitlements".

The Supreme Court voted to allow illegals to be counted. Blame it on them.....

APRIL 4, 2016 9:12 AM

(Washington Times) – A unanimous Supreme Court ruled Monday that illegal immigrants and other non-citizens can be counted when states draw their legislative districts, shooting down a challenge by Texas residents who said their own voting power was being diluted.

I think anyone drawing over 50% of what it takes to live from dagubment (except 100% disabled and retired Social Security recipients) should not be allowed to vote.  Or just say only landowners can vote.

Interesting thought.  How would you vote on voting?

A democracy is always temporary in nature; it simply cannot exist as a permanent form of government. A democracy will continue to exist up until the time that voters discover that they can vote themselves generous gifts from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates who promise the most benefits from the public treasury, with the result that every democracy will finally collapse due to loose fiscal policy, which is always followed by a dictatorship.
The average age of the world's greatest civilizations from the beginning of history has been about 200 years. During those 200 years, these nations always progressed through the following sequence:

  • From bondage to spiritual faith;
  • From spiritual faith to great courage;
  • From courage to liberty;
  • From liberty to abundance;
  • From abundance to complacency;
  • From complacency to apathy;
  • From apathy to dependence;
  • From dependence back into bondage.

https://cis.org/Feere/Supreme-Court-Leaves-Door-Open-States-Not-Counting-Aliens-when-Drawing-Electoral-Districts

In a unanimous ruling, the Supreme Court held in Evenwel v. Abbott that Texas's current methodology for drawing electoral districts based on total population is constitutionally sound. The Court did not rule on the question of whether states are required to include illegal aliens or other non-citizens when drawing districts. In fact, the Court noted that some states "have relied on the registered-voter or voter-eligible populations" for drawing districts and that 10 states already exclude some non-permanent residents.

We get it that their numbers are counted.  Libs are objecting because they think illegals won't answer because of that question and will be undercounted.  That may well be true but that's life.  Before 1960 we asked that question but given the big immigration push in the mid 60's they no longer wanted them to be asked this question so the American people would not have a real idea of the amount of immigration that happened.

Why would any illegal answer YES?

You'll have to ask the left wing nuts foaming at the mouth about the restoration of the census to asking the citzenship question.

Well since they already broke immigration laws why not lie on a federal form which is also illegal.  But damn we need more of those fine law abiding illegal's... wait .. nevermind.

They don't have to ask if they are an illegal immigrant - they can just ask are you an immigrant.  It's really a shame in this country that we let the immigation thing get so out of hand that we have no idea how many illegals we have.  Don't just think of Mexicans and Central Americans - think about Asians, Africans, Pakistani and that ilk.  We never tracked those that came on student and visitor visas to see if they actually left when they were supposed to.

I actually believe the question is whether they are a U.S. citizen.  It doesn't ask if they are illegal or not.  Someone could be here legally on a green card and answer no.  And if you are here illegally you would answer no, assuming they don't want to break more U.S. laws.  I suspect those that do answer and who are here illegally will either lie or refuse to participate.
