You can't make this kind of stupidity up.  Only the left can turn satire into reality with the latest from the mayor of Londonistan about getting knives off the street.  Yeah, making it illegal will really solve the problem.  News flash you moron, stabbing someone with a knife is already against the law.  I can just see it now.  Two criminals talking and one says to the other,  "Hey chum, let's get our knives and go stab someone."  And the other replies, "Sorry mate, but it's against the law to carry knives so I guess we need to use our cricket bats."  The other responds, "Oh bloody hell, this is so inconvenient but I don't want to get caught carryng a knife when we commit a crime so cricket bats it is."

I mean, it's worked so well everywhere it's been tried, right?  I mean, look at Chicago with some of the most stringent gun control laws and it has practically eliminated gun violence there.......oh wait, never mind........

It's really crazy but for them it is preferable to be seen as doing something, even if it is of dubious value.  The main thing they accomplish is to ignore the root cause of these problems.  As if making it illegal to carry a knife will prevent someone who plans to kill will accomplish anything.  Let's see, which is worse?  Carrying a knife or killing someone?  The latter obviously.  To think that making it illegal to carry a knife (a lesser crime) will stop someone intending to commit an even worse crime is either insanity or completely cynical.  I suspect it is the mayor thinking that the citizens of London are profoundly stupid and will believe he is actually doing something of value.  But then again they voted for him so why not?

Would be funny if it wasn't so close to the truth.  Ban guns, ban knives - murder is illegal, but that doesn't seem to stop anyone.
