Trump threw UN Amb Nikki Haley under the bus today. She told the UN Russia about new sanctions on Russia during a special meeting Sunday. Today, Trump says NO. Must have received a call from Putin..... Talk about throwing a good Amb for the US under the bus. Typical Trump...sad...pathetic....Does Putin know more about Trump than Cohen knows??? It becomes more and more evident each day that there may well be something he doesn't want Putin to divulge. Or, maybe he is setting up a Trump Tower Moscow after he leaves office.

I think Putin knows a lot more about Trump than Cohen does...plus he has the video to back it up if Trump wanders too far off the reservation.

Nikki Haley is another member of Trump's Keystone cops / gang that can't shoot straight government that must have to down a 2 finger tumbler ever morning before she looks at herself in the mirror.  Nikki you are better (at least you were in SC) than becoming just another mouthpiece for an idiot.

Knowing his propensity to make decisions on the fly, Nicki should have couched her words better.

I sometimes wonder if Trump is looking beyond his Presidency, and not wanting to offend Putin in case there are business deals to be made in the future.... or perhaps Trump worries that he too might be the victim of poison placed on his door, or in his diet coke.  We know what happens to Putin's enemies - one of the investigative reporters in Russia just had an accidental falling from his balcony.

The truth is that she got out in front of her boss.  He may have said sanctions, but changed his mind.  She should have couched it "may consider sanctions".

Justa bunch of amateurs running the WH. Sure makes a good representative of the Trump administration look foolish to the worlld. She shoulld tell Trump to stick it and resign.

"President Donald Trump gave approval last week for rolling out airstrikes in Syria as well as new sanctions on Russia, according to three senior administration officials — but U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley wasn’t briefed on changes to the sanctions plan before announcing it Sunday on national television.

The episode marks the latest instance of members of Trump’s team appearing out of sync with one another or with the president on foreign affairs.

“Russia sanctions were a part of the agreed-upon plan going into the strike and going into the weekend,” said a senior administration official. “As recently as Saturday, that was reconfirmed as part of the plan.”

The Republican National Committee distributed talking points on Saturday morning in the wake of Friday’s airstrikes that specifically mentioned new sanctions, though not a specific timeline, according to a copy obtained by POLITICO: “We also intend to impose specific additional sanctions against Russia to respond to Moscow’s ongoing support for the Assad regime, which has enabled the regime’s atrocities against the Syrian people.”

The president halted the sanctions plan on Sunday night, according to a Washington Post report."

No Hound, the truth is she did not get ''out in front'' of her boss.  She delivered exactly what the ''idiot'' initially instructed her and other surrogates to say.  Later the ''idiot'' changed his mind (nothing new here...he probably got new marching orders or a threat to release the videos from Moscow) but the ''idiot'' failed to get the new version to his mouthpieces!  ''The Trump Administration is running like a well oiled machine.''

Please face reality Hound, this ''idiot'' is a 150 car train wreck and you know it.  Please stop apologizing for the stupidity of a man who has never once in his life even considered apologizing for ANYTHING!

WHY DON'T YOU READ WHAT I WROTE..."Talk about throwing a good Amb for the US under the bus. Typical Trump...sad...pathetic..."

When Trump is impeached, Pence should strongly consider Haley as VP.  But , then he would need his wife to be there for any meeting between the two of them in the oval office..male..female... His wife would need security clearance and what would happen if she could not get it? So, I guess my suggestion of Haley for VP would not work.

Ain't that a bunch of chit.

She would make a great VP or P.  And I agree with her about the "confusion".  Trump is a different actor.  I have to put up with some stuff for the satisfaction of no HRC  in white house.  Imagine how corrupt the DOJ  would have become if Comey's reason for his judicial actions had taken place.  Rule of law and justice based on who I think will be president.  That is a little more serious than staff lack of communication.  One is bad office procedure, the other is criminal.  And now Comey is upset over Scooter when HTC and staff and Weiner are so guilty.  Justice has the blinders off these days

Lifer, I did NOT put Ms. Haley down. Larry Kudlow did! Can you really hear him saying, "She's doing a great job, she's a very effective ambassador. There might have been some momentary confusion about that," if he was talking about a man? No way. He just was helping the "poor little lady" out. What a jerk!

I'm just saying that when you work for a boss who is apt to change his mind, she should know to couch what she says, so she can save face.  I'm sure she felt like an idiot.  There are certain things that you learn when you work in Washington - don't get out in front of your boss, and if you work for one that is apt to change his mind, make sure you don't make definitive statements about what may or may not happen.  I have no doubt that someone at the WH said sanctions but whether she heard it directly from Trump or from someone else, who knows? It puts her credibility on the line, with a very tough audience.  Trump may not care about her credibility, but he should.

I agree.  Niki is a smart woman and I sincerely doubt she was "confused".  What Trump needs to understand is that when he changes his mind on the fly and doesn't let her know that he has changed his mind, he undermines her credibility.  It wouldn't surprise me to see her run for office at some point.  I read a while ago that she had her eyes on Secretary of State, but that has yet to happen.  If Pompao is not confirmed, maybe it'll be her turn.

Based on what has happened and been revealed in the last 24 hours concerning this fiasco of the day it is certainly not Nikki Haley that needs to ''feel like an idiot''.  It is the bona-fide ''idiot'' and Larry Kudlow, his new economic advisor, that are looking like the idiots they are...of course that is nothing new with this bunch!  When you elect a clown be prepared for a circus!

Ringling Brothers and Barnum and Bailey Circus shut down in May 2017.  Missing their star attraction Obozo of the previous eight years forced them to fold the tent and set the elephants free. However, their clown car is still operating out of DNC headquarters and is filled to capacity and on tour daily. Comey is currently auditioning for a spot if a vacancy occurs.

The "country" seems to be working pretty well under President Trump's leadership. So much of what he has accomplished so far has been  to "overcome" many of the problems Obama created during his eight years. You are so reluctant to give President Trump any credit for the the positive changes that he has made during the first year of his Presidency. What's even more revealing is the fact that everything that President Trump has managed to accomplish has been done without any "support" from Democrats and the "fake" news media. The Democcrats have done "nothing" to provide the leadership and carry out the "platform" they used to place them in office.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                 A question for "you". If Hillary had been elected President, what would be the "state" of our government today under the leadership of Comey, McCabe, Strozk, Page, Lynch and numerous others who have been involved in one of the most "eye opening" scandals in American history? It now appears that Mueller's investigation that has gone on for months and has cost millions of dollars may be found to be "unconstitutional". How the "people" that we have entrusted with representing "we" the people could have put together the "scheme" that is being uncovered is "unfathomable". As part of the resistance to accept President Trump, after more than 15 months in office, more than 500 of his nominees for office have yet to be "confirmed". Again, this shows a total lack of concern by Democrats for providing the necessary leadership required to fulfill the needs of government. Among these nominees are numerous federal court justices. What rulings   can be expected when such a large number of Obama appointees are still on board?                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                           On a different subject, a news flash just crossed the TV screen that hit a "nerve" with me. It said that 142 MS-13 Gang members who had been arrested have been  "released" as a result of actions from Sanctuary Cities. Also, it was just revealed that the 7th US Circuit Court of Appeals  just upheld a court order preventing the Justice Department from imposing grants to Sanctuary cities. Another case of Obama judges that are still making decisions.

Thanks for the ''opinion'' piece Buteye. But opinions are not facts but they can be ''fake'' news!

Now for more ''opinion''.  I have no idea how the country would be doing under Hillary and neither do you, but I suspect the 2.9 million more folks that voted for her than for Trump wish we were finding out! As to how the country is doing under Trump is, to a considerable extent a matter of opinion.  Sure, the economy is improving and employment is rising but not as fast as the last year of Obama (look it up)! The markets are up but again not as much as Obama (look it up) and some scary cracks are starting to appear.  Regulations have been lifted but it will take months or years to determine whether their lifting is or is not beneficial to the nation as a whole. Some positive and some negative changes have been made in the immigration system but if they slow or scare off responsible legal immigration and the economy does soar the whole thing will soon crumble for lack of people willing to work for peanuts to mow our lawn or clean our hotel room or hang our drywall or pick and process our foodl! Unfair and unequal trade practices should be countered but it will only get worse for all if it is countered by political stupidity and bias and appeal to a ''base'' rather than with economic reason.  Anybody who is not disturbed about whether or not the Russians took certain actions to influence our electoral process and whether Trump had any relation to it or input to it is either a damn fool, a traitor or just not paying attention.  Now, if the economy soars, world peace breaks out and cancer is cured and if Donald Trump has some claim to being responsible for everything good that happens he IS STILL not fit to be President because he is an immoral lying scumbag of a human being.  If John Edwards had become president and performed miracles he too would still be unfit morally or ethically to lead a great nation! Hillary is no saint but she is for damn sure a few notches above Trump on the decency scale!  That too is opinion, my opinion, but according to every poll it is the more widely held than yours.

That is just it, I don't think Trump had anything to do with the Russians trying to influence our elections.  If you recall though, Hillary was using donations to her foundation to buy time on her calendar when she was Secretary of State and that bothers me a great deal.

As far as opinions of Donald Trump, polls are funny things.  Like it depends on who you ask, and how you word the question.  So I don't put a great deal of stock in polls.  Just as I don't put a lot of stock in the statistics that the government or any other organization puts out.  Because depending on the assumptions you make and the factors you consider, statistics can be made to show whatever you want.

You know, you have to look closely at the Russians.  Putin wants to make Russia a super-power again.  We are currently the only super-power. So why wouldn't he try to infiltrate our election system.  Because despite what you hear, our election process is pretty straight forward, unlike Russia.   Russia is always saying things about the United States trying to change world opinion about us, because that is in Putin's best interest.

With regard to everything that is positive - most of us are smart enough to know that today's policy decision does not necessairily change things today (except perhaps the stock market which is reactionary).  So it's not really right to use the stock market as a guage - because investors can be happy today and then jittery tomorrow.  And most of the time, the jitters in the market have less to do with what is going on here, than it does what is going on elsewhere in the world.  It's a global economy.

As someone that used to write policy for a living, I can tell you that in general - Democrats believe that more regulation is good.  In fact, I have seen policy written for things that didn't even happen, but people feared might happen.  Democrats believe that you can regulate people's behvavior by passing laws and putting all kinds of restrictions on everything.  Republicans on the other hand, think the less regulation the better.  They tend to believe that people and companies are self regulating and they also believe that the economy is king and that anything that might negatively impact the economy is bad.  Both sides tend to knee jerk.

But I guess my real point is that most of the things that are impacting things today were actually put in place years ago and are just now bearing fruit (or not).  It's like steering a huge aircraft carrier - you don't turn the ship quickly.  Despite all the wrangling and political theatre and statistic of this and that, it's still too soon to see if things Obama did were really bad or really good.  That will be evident in about 15-20 years, that is the things that stay in place that aren't undone by the current Administration.

You can have your opinions, and the masses can have their opinions, but the truth is this: people generally respond positively to being told they are going to get things for free.  Free Education, free benefits, on and on.  People vote for that, because they don't want to look beyond to see where the money will come from.  Half the people in the country are now convinced that there are all these rich people out there that have so much and are taking it out of the mouths that don't.  That is ridiculous, but a lot of people like the way that sounds. Just like they like Robin Hood.  And popularity will go to whatever side is making these promises.  Now people also like the idea of tax cuts, because everyone wants a strong defense, and all the things that cost money, but they don't want to pay the taxes to get it.  The vast number of people want to believe that this will come as a matter of course and if only we did away with a few more government agencies (the ones writing the regulartions taht Republicans don't like), we could pile money into defense and still cut taxes.  No one is worried about the debt.  Neither side promotes the idea about paying down the debt.

People are like sheep - they have lost their ability to think independently and critically, and just tend to believe what they hear on the news and read on the internet.  No one bothers to see if it makes sense.

As far as morality, with regard to John Edwards.  I don't think he lost his popularity as much because he had a baby with another worman, but rather that he cheated on his popular wife who was suffering from terminal cancer.  For all we know, his wife may have been a bi__ch.  We do know that he misused campaign funds.  I do not think the vast majority of people care about Donald Trump's affairs 10+ years ago.  It's pretty clear that this woman is trying to shake some more money out of the tree, and the Democrats see it as a way to get Trump out of office perhaps.  The media loves it because they believe sex sells and then don't like Trump.  He doesn't wine and dine them or kiss their butts.  He doesn't care what they write, because in his mind, any publicity is better than no publicity and this is how he has always been - even before he was a national figure.

Trump was elected because people were tired of hearing about hope and change and not seeing it.  They thought Trump, who is not a shmoozer by any stretch, seemed refreshingly honest.

Hound I agree with everything you said but the statement about folks not wanting to pay taxes for defense and such. Nobody I know would mind paying taxes for those things. What we resent is taking our money at gun point and using it to fund useless crap; i.e. Planned parenthood, funding bs research, giving illegal border crosses pamphlets in 15 languages detailing how to get on welfare, catch and release, endless investigations with nobody held to account, congressional junkets aka vacations for families and staff, subsidies for billionaires to develop "green technologies", climate change studies and prevention, etc. etc. Nobody minds paying for roads, bridges, defense etc.

You have provided a great summation of the "world" as we live it today. For the most part, people in politics, particularly those in Congress, will do and say anything to get elected to office and stay in office, as long as somebody else is "paying" the billl. After all, why should they be concerned that the United States is "only" 20 trillion dollars in debt? If they used their credit cards like they use "our"  tax dollars they would all be "bankrupt".

What a bunch of "BS". So it took Obama "eight" years to equal what President Trump has done with the economy in his first year in office. Remember, Obama's qualifications for President was that of a "Community Organizer". Enough said. If Hillary was such a a great nominee for Presidency of the United States, why are Democrats trying to distance themselves from her before the mid-term elections?

You raised a good point.  But I do believe that there is a point at which people are not willing to take on more taxes for Defense, because in most people's minds, they can't eve conceive the amount of money we curently spend on defense.  But I think people would happily pay more for infrastructure, road, etc because these are things they can see benefit them.
