 We went Friday and agree that it is indeed still a great place to go.  This year they allow pets in the grassy areas and provide the "tools" (strategically small placed plastic bags and lidded containers) to dispose of any unpleasantries.  Food-wise the catfish is a great addition, grilled or fried.  I had mine fried and it was cooked to perfection, moist and flakey, and the filets were thicker than you get at most catfish restaurants. They have changed their pretzel appetizer and the new one is smallish but absolutely wonderful. Only downside food wise was my wife's cheeseburger was a little overdone, so next time we will specify how we'd like it cooked.

Going to be another great year for Herb's Parker Creek jewel!

Haven't been yet this year.  I don't know that I think their food is wonderful, but it is very nice having an option on this end of the lake.  Herb is clearly onto something that was much needed and I applaud his efforts to renew and refresh when he opens every year.  Too many places just get stale with the same old/same old.  It's great that he is allowing dogs, as long as it doesn't turn into dogs roaming everywhere.  You may remember another establishment that had an open dog policy and it got out of hand and literally went to the dogs. I have a coonhound or two that would have been more than willing to take your wife's dry hamburger off her hands.  :-)

A one mile trek to the Landing "trumps" any other option available to us, and Herb does a good job of keeping things fresh, ala the catfish addition.

Our table had catfish both ways, pork chop, cheese kurds,  sweet pot fries, salad .  All good
