Supreme court rules in favor of the baker 7-2 citing Colorado violating free exercise clause of 1st amendment.
The ruling is dangerous because the freedom originates from the claim of "this is my religion" - atheism and tree hugging included.

Given how narrow and constrained the ruling was it won't stop these commissions from puncing on people trying to exercise their religious beliefs in the marketplace. They will simply eliminate all the anti-religion stuff and continue to enforce their stupid laws in a way that doesn't run afoul of this very limited decision. Nothing will change and he will have to bake that cake. That's the only reason Kagan and Breyer joined the majority and why Kennedy wrote it. If they thought it would change anything it would ahve been a 5-4 decision in the other direction. The whole issue revolves around "being" versus "doing" and SCOTUS is clearly on the side of being and they clearly view same sex attraction as that.

I have to say that I am a bit surprised at the ruling. But as MM points out, it is a narrow ruling.
