I didn’t do a lot of research, but I wonder how many of these are under democrat control. For the two of you that continually berate Alabama, check out how many from here are on the list.

There are 7 Republicans and 2 Independents.  All the rest are Democrat mayors.  So it's 82% Democrat and both the Independents are liberals so the real number is 86%.  Having said that, I question the methodology for deciding what is the worst city.

I had the misfortune of living in two of the top five worst cities and and can vouch for their rank.  You would never get a liberal news rag to disclose how the rankings are reached, because that would be “racist”, at least for most.  Good to see CA dumps making the list....pretty soon the whole state will be a high priced ghetto.

Humm.  I guess the 98,000 people that moved to Metro Atlanta (15000 to the City of Atlanta...based on percentage a rate of growth higher than the burbs) didn't get the word.  Metro Atlanta last year gained more than 5 times as many new residents as the entire state of Alabama.

I agree for a change with MM in that the methodology of this study are suspect.

I really expected Birmingham to make the list...they usually show up in these types of rankings.  So many in this ranking show up in the most dangerous (crime stats) cities to live.

You are correct we had a very crooked mayor and may have elected another (but not 50 million crooked and as I recall the AL gov's office not to mention B'ham mayors office have been less than prestine), but all the crooked politicians of both parties in GA are put to shame by your president not to mention the former state supreme court justice you thought would make a great senator.  Two wrongs do not make a right and neither do 3, 4 nor 5! Your hypocrisy is erupting yet again!
