Subject:   Fireworks, nights, and boat lights

So, against my better judgment, we ventured as close as we dared to watch the fireworks Wednesday night. I thought it was a really good show. Thirty minutes is a lot of fireworks.

Even from where we stopped, I saw more LED lights, docking lights, spotlights, and every other kind of light you can imagine. Some LED lights even changed colors, from time to time a nice long string of green LED lights went down the port side of the boat.......where the red lights are supposed to be.

Now, I assume these guys think they're making things safer with all the lights. After all, you want people to see your boat. Has anybody stopped to think how all those lights makes it HARDER TO SEE? If you have a boat like that, your night vision has to be terrible with all that ambient light around you. All the interior lights, even if they are a "cool" blue color, can't help either.

There has to be a happy medium somewhere. 

With that said, Happy 6th of July. Crazy season is almost over :)
