Once I waded through your prose to understand what you are asking - I think both.  North Korea is not going to want to be seen as a push over especially to their people,  and the Americans are wanting to show progress, which they are.  Just the fact that they are meeting is progress for the Americans.  

In international negotiations, you will rarely hear both sides say it is going great.  I have seen times when meetings when horrible, and in my case, Israel released a press statement saying that everything was great and they were getting what they wanted.  

Negotiations are not going to be easy with North Korea (and I was just saying to my DH that I am glad not to be on that negotiation team).  They will be stubborn and hard nosed - don't forget that they as Asians have been negotiating for thousands of years, but on our side, only a few hundred.  They will try to embarass our side publicly every chance they get.  And I predict that in the end, we will concede to giving them food and they won't ever denuke, because really, why would they?  They are a totally paranoid country.

Does it give you any pause Hound, that Trump seems to exude praise and express trust in the statements of Putin and Kim while giving the finger to George H W Bush and John McCain to raise cheers from his ''Base''?  Are you still of the belief that neither a president nor a bunch of old men on the Supreme Court have any businees in determining the reproductive choices of any woman? When it goes south for this idiot, and it eventually it will, are you going to be one of those willing to admit that perhaps you were wrong in putting such trust in this narsissistic disaster or will you blame it all on Obama, or Mueller, or Comey, or Maxine Waters, or the ''fake news'' media like all the nuts on this forum who, unlike the old Hound, has hated anybody to the left of Attila the Hun for their entire life?

I did not vote for Trump for his internatioal prowness.  I voted for him for his domestic agenga.  No, I will not blame him or admit anything because he is doing what he promised.  I don't pay nearly as much to what Trump says as you apparently do.  I judge him by what he gets done.  

And my position on women's reproductive rights have not changed.

Sorry to hear you say that even if the country goes to hell because of his trade, foreign and domestic agenda you will be good with that because he is fulfilling his domestic agenda including his promise to make sure the SCOTUS reppeals Roe as one of his most important domestic policy items.  Your opinions have certainly changed since 2009!

Much like the question I asked myself roughly 6 or so years ago wondering do I believe God (Obama) or my own instincts when it came to the ACA and O's promises:

1.  If you like your healthcare plan, you can keep your healthcare plan

2 . If you like your doctor, you can keep your doctor

3.  Your healthcare plans will be on the order of 50% less expensive.

All lies, but I don't remember you questioning your side's promises.  Your and your party's desparation is showing.

The reproductive "choice" was long since made.  I thought your side made it very clear during this immigration fascade that it was aghast at the thought of "ripping" children away from their parents, (those same parents, BTW. many of which directed their unaccompanied children to wade through hostile Mexican territory toward the border in order to obtain freebies from the US taxpayer).  I must say that, I too, am against "ripping" human beings away from their parents, and I hope the USSC gets a do-over on this dreaded decision.

No, they really haven't.  In YOUR opnion he's making a mess, but not in my opinion.  In my view, he is taking a stand on issues that past presidents refused to take a stand on.  I don't think he is messing up any more than Obama, or GWB, or Clinton messed up.  He's not going for the easy or the popular decision.  

Really, I think it is you that has changed and it's like you are hysterical.  You are caught up in the liberal echo chamber.  Take a break from it and calm down.  You know, you don't even have to come to this forum if it makes you so hysterical.  I'm sure there are liberal forums where you could post amongst people that believe the same as you.  You need to realize that you will not convert people with these emotional posts.  Nor by accusing me and saying I've changed.  Nothing has changed - I am a mature woman,  and I don't change my views on a whim.  

Trumps personality doesn't bother me.  He has the same personality he has always had.  He likes to create controversy and speaks impulsively, and off the cuff.  He's got an extroverted personality so that if it pops in this mind, it comes out his mouth.  He thinks outloud.  I've dealt with a lot of extroverts in my life, so I am used to it.

you have changed.  Within a few days of my first post on this site you PM'd me thanking me for countering the general extreme anti-Obama tilt on this site, pointed out the hate had started during the campaign and continued unabated since the inauguration  and urging me to stick with it and not be intimidated by the vile responses I could expect to my comments. 

Indeed like you I spoke and still speak my mind.  Mr H considers that admirable in your case but not so much fo me.  I guess it all depends on whether or not the thoughts of a mind conforms to the narrow mindedness of Mr. H.

Sounds to me like many she found out Obama Hope and change was not what it was billed as.  Obama was a fraud and was only able to EO through hook and crook ( Phone and pen) instead of the through the legislature.

But just think after 8 years of trump and 8 more of Pence - IF a dem can get back in control of the White House.  The rule books have changed now.  Just like with the SCOTUS nuclear option that the Dems have handed to Trump.

Imagine listening to GFY when he has to "defend" liberal nutburger A or Auntie Archie getting a daily does of "WTF this guy bought a pen and should be hung."

It no longer needs logic or reason, now it just needs raw emotion and  "I hate the guy and I can say whatever nasty I want".  I find it laughable that Archie wants to bill himself as middle of the road and that the parties do better in the middle, yet the dems are going further and further left without a word from Mr. Middle isle.  We get to hear lots about we need to move to the left to find common ground - but have we ever heard Archie complain about how far left into socialism that his party is heading?  Do we hear about how the left needs to come back to the right and sanity to find that common ground.  

Nope - just the Right/Republicans = Nazi's/Hitler so there can be no common ground.  

Hound you believe what you want to believe after listening to whatever side of whatever you want.  Just remember he only tolerates you having an opinion when you agree with him.  Other then that is "you have changed"  and how dare you have an opinion - it makes you belive that he is just a sexist bigot.  I am suprised he has not told you to quit wearing pants and get back in the kitchen.

You do not have to read my posts.  In fact, you can block me and I suggest you do.  

At the end of the Bush (43) Presidency, I was totally disgusted by our invasion of Iraq.  I was still working in Washington and that was one of the reasons I chose to retire when I did.  I really wanted to beieve in the hope and change that Obama promised.  But then reality begain to set in - he was an inept statesman, he added fuel to the fire on the issue of racism in this country, and he and Michelle treated the WH as their own personal resort.  They wanted to tell us how to live.  Yes, he dressed well and on occassion spoke well, but talk is where it ended.  I had high hopes for Obamacare at the beginning, but then the roll out was a mess and I talked to a lot of people that got their insurance on the exchange - insurance with really high deductibles that didn't do a thing for general person.  Effectively, they still didn't have health care that they coud use.  I didn't and still don't dislike him personally, but he was ineffective as a president.   And then there were the rumors about Hilary and her selling her time as Sec State via donations to their foundation.  And the emails.  And the lies about Bengazhi.  

I knew that I would never vote for Hilary Clinton, as I believe the Clintons have disgraced the office of the President.  Not to mention that she was a terrible administrator - and there was the Iran deal, and other ineffectual attempts at statemanship.  I certainly wasn't going to vote for that old socialist Bernie.  I could see something needed to be done to help the economy and create jobs.  I personally did not want to pay more taxes, so that other people's kids could go to college for free.  I looked at the Republican choices.  At first I supported Kaisch from Ohio.  But once he dropped out, I had to look seriously at Trump.  I knew he had the intestinal fortitude to go his own way.  His personality and egocentric inclinations were not my favorite, but he told it like it is, and he even went after members of his own party.  And I believed and still believe he is not a politician and that is one of the reason he shocks so many people.  And that is what I like about him.  He's taking on issues that past politicians have not - things that really need to be addressed like the economy and immigration.  I think he is doing the right thing with immigration.  He's gotten rid of a lot of regulation, and as a former bureaucrat I know, that sometimes regulations get put in place to address the fears of what might happen instead of what is happening.  He is shaking things up, just as he promised.  

Other countries "laugh" at us -well, he's put them on notice. They need us more than we need them.  It's all fine and good as long as the U.S. is footing the bill... remember "coalition warfare"?  that was just a reason to re-equip their Armies by the U.S. taxpayers.  

He's taking on China - it's too soon to say if it will be effective.  But maybe if the prices of everything goes up, Americans will stop buying stuff that takes them further and further in debt.  Junk that they don't need.  

I personally don't care about "women's rights".  There is no sisterhood - it is every dog for herself.  I don't care about a bunch of snivering women who made the choice to swap sex for a career and now regret it.  They had a choice.  Those women hovering around Trump?  They had a choice too.  

So don't tell me that I am a fraud or that I have changed.  You only know me through what I post here.  You don't know the whole person.  I value honesty.  You have every right to believe what you want to believe, but don't start name calling when another person doesn't agree with you.

Your text provides a more than adequate explanation of you as a person and your views on the political course our country has taken over the last few years(particularly the last eight years). Any sane person would see you as your own person and as someone who holds America as a great country and values the Constituion on which it was founded. OOPS! I forgot Architect has let President Trump take away any resemblance of his "sanity".
