Apparently she claims she asked for documents from the DOJ and they are stonewalling her......which is apparently their SOP. While I have zero sympathy for her she does have a right to see documents before she is asked to testify under oath. Her only other option would be to plead the 5th. Of course if you plan to tell the truth you shouldn't need documents but every defense attorney in the world would ahve advised her not to testify. The bigger question is why the DOJ keeps stonewalling pretty much everything when it comes to document production. I frankly think they just don't want the committee to see docs they have been asking for and she would have to produce them during her testimony. This whole thing stinks of corruption.

Regardless, let me ask you a question. When have we ever heard of someone actually being jailed for contempt of Congress or even lying under oath to Congress? I can't think of one and therein lies the problem. Until people start going to prison for these crimes nothing will change. And now we have Trump blasting Sessions for doing nothing about her refusal to show up. But if they actually decide to enforce it with her the cries of selective enforcement it will just be another media-inspired crisis.
From my perspective we already know all we need to know about this floozy and her paramour and their likely criminal acts. All testimony before Congress will be is theater of the absurd where people like Trey Gowdy will grandstand and then nothing will happen. My main source of solace is that while all this nonsense goes on Trump keeps accomplishing things we want him to get done. Sorry to be such a downer but all I hear from Congress is a bunch of bloviating and sound bites followed by nothing of any consequence.

Agree 100%. Congress has held people in contempt many times without any penalties I hope they finally get off their collective butts and actually do something about it, but will not hold my breath.
Would think it funny if they did make an example of her, then she would probably sue them and say that she was treated differently then Holder.

Looks like the last one held in contempt and something was done was a republican in 1982.
