Have there been any announcements on locations for new Russell Lands communities? I heard a while back that they wanted to develop across from Willow Point. Is that still in the works or is there somewhere else they are considering?

The land directly across from Willow POint wil never be developed as long as Ben Russell is stil around, because that's what he can see from his house.

After Ben is gone, that will change.

They closed Russell's Ferry trailer park a few months ago, presumed my to convert to a new development. It is one  County Road 40 across the street from AC public golf course. It has been planned in the works for years.

The new bridge planned across lake at the end of Highway 34 may be a hint.....

Really? A bridge at end of 34?  Seems unreal as cost would be tremendous.

I rode over to what used to be Pickford Hollow and they are doing major infrastructure development with roads and pipes.  So I suspect there will be a new development there.  From the water, it is right across from Willow Glen.  Had heard rumors for a while that Pickford Hollow was history and that the land would be developed.  Interestingly, there still seem to be some improved cabin homes there - I don't know if they are actually owned, or just got to hold their lease for another year.

The north side of Willow Glenn is the new development. That's progress, and Russell Lands will create a new and quality area of the lake.

I miss the feel of the old Russell Cabin areas and I hate to see them go. I grew up in what is now Trillium. But, Thanks to Russell for keeping Lake Martin from looking like other lakes. I respect and admire the forethought of the Russell family way back in the '40s to keep ownership and lease instead of sell.

My father in law said no none knows how fast time flies until you sign a 30 year note. How about a 50 year lease!

Sorry for the folks that will miss their Russell cabin, but thanks to Russell for keeping our lake "apart from the rest".

In some ways I agree with you - because Russell has certainly decided the "look" of the lake.   I think it is too early to decide if this is a good thing or a bad thing.  I'm not fond of structuring lots with houses, even very nice houses, one on top of another to maximize profits.  What will matter is how these gated communities are maintained.  Easy when everythinig is new, but as time goes on, it may not be as easy.

But I am not one who has anything against Russell Lands.

Let's see, half mile bridge, water depth 120 ft...$$$$$$$$,  land already accessible from both sides....WHY???  Ain't gonna happen!!
