Our outdoor English Ivy is turning brown and dying. It gets plenty of water and sun. Any ideas what is causing this?

Perhaps the heat? Or is it getting too much water?

We have a large patch and it could be that this one section is getting too much sun, but we can't control that. The section next to it is deep green and thriving, but it is in the shade. Just hope it is not a fungus.

I don't think they are subject to fungus too much. I'd bet the direct sun. I'm trying to think if I have ever seen it grow in full sun - which we know down here is punishing.
