Subject:   2 EZ Ports, missing/ stolen

We have 2 EZ ports that are missing/stolen off our floating dock.  We are located off Turner Rd and Lakewood Rd. Walnut Hill area.  If anyone has newly installed used EZ ports in the last several weeks, they are most likely ours. Or if anyone has seen someone towing EZ ports on the lake recently please message me asap.  We have made a report with the Tallapoosa Sheriff ,you can also contact them.

Hopefully someone has seen something and will let us know.. This is very upsetting that this would happen on Lake Martin.

May have found your ports, saw on SUP this morning, off Turner point, wedged into and old dock and rocks.  Hope this is it!

Thank you, Srfrdude, can you see them by land? or from your map it appears only by water.

Best I could do with the pin.  If the ports stayed in the same place, they wedged up against a tree on the shoreline and an old dock.  Hug the shoreline and you should see it.

Could have been knocked loose by moronic wakeboarders. Had a neighbor whose jet ski was on a 2x4 bunk and tied to lift. Wakeboarder wake threw jet ski in air, broke bunk and broke rope setting it adrift.

I think the situation with wake boats is becoming more of a serious problem than most people realize. Your post certainly attests  to just one type of damage that can be caused by the "waves" from wake boats. However, when posts are made to an earlier post that is several days old it is most likely not read by most people. I think it would be helpful to all Lake Martin users if you would repeat your post so it "shows" up as a new post and will get the attention of everyone who is witnessing the types of damage that can result from wake boats if their owners fail to acknowledge results from their "huge" waves. For anyone who failed to read all the posts that began on 7/30/2018, Subject:"South end of the lake", Pontoonfisher, I suggest you read them, particularly the one on 7/31/2018 by F1Fan. It is "scary". I want everyone to enjoy all the "fun" things that go along with spending a "day" on the lake, but boat owners of all tpes have to be held responsible for the "actions" they create. I seriously think the time is not too  far away when a "serious" injury or "death" is going to result from the carelessness we see everyday on the lake. My concern is not directed solely at wake boat owners but I believe they present "more" situations for danger than most other lake activities. One case I see quiet possible is kids floating on thier "lily pads" near their dock and a "huge" wake slams them into the dock. Numerous other possibilities exist for similar situations to occur!!!!!!!!

I agree with the crazy wakeboarders and the wakes they create.  Unfortunately, that is not the case, if the EZ ports broke off due to craxy boaters and high wakes, there would be some sorts of damage to the dock. Possibly with loose plates or parts hanging.  Unfortualey that is not the case, there is no damage to the dock or loose parts etc.  I had a dock company come out, they confirmed they were taken and did not break off.  The two outside plates are still in place bolted to dock, Bolts and metal steel bar joining the EZ ports to metal plates are gone, Plates are in tack.  They explained that the two outside plates have the dock floats underneath and no way they can get to those from underneath. They had to be cut off bolts and or pins with bolt cutters.  The two inside plates are removed and they can swim up underneath dock and undo those bolds. No floats in the way.

The Sheriff has been out and report made, the also confirmed no evidence of them breaking off, appears from what they saw that they had to be taken.

Someone out there has recently installed used EZ ports.
