McCain had broken ones and spent over 5 years in prison while Trump nursed his bone spurs. Bone spurs are quite painful but Trump only had problems when he received his call to serve.

Sorry, I agree with Trump.  Being a POW doesn't make you a hero.  Being a hero is when you put yourself in harms way with no regard for your personal safety.  There were a lot of POWs in Viet Nam - but he's the only one I know that parlayed it into a career.

You want to look at a hero?  Look at Bob Dole.  He was wounded in combat, went on to have a career on Capitol Hill.  Actually did something, and now in his 90s, he sit outside the WWII memorial and greets visiting veterans.

It's not the same thing.  He wasn't putting himself in harms way to help someone else, he was flying missions that he was assigned, like hundreds of other pilots.  I don't think he volunteered and if he hadn't flown the missions he would have been court martialed.  I realize that you likely have no miliary experience, but you don't get to pick and choose your missions. 

I just wish that all those who laude McCain as such a hero, had voted him as President when they had the chance to "reward" him for his heroism.

regarding McCain and complete silence on the 2d question as regards the ''hero'' in the WH.  Of course GF has pointed out this morning that Dear Leader did in fact serve...in an exclusive NY miliary academy!

PS:  I did vote for McCain in the 2000 primary and would have seriously considered him in 2008 if he had followed his conscience in his VP selection instead of the know it all advisers if he and run the same inspirational campaign he did in 2000.

she wouldn't consider them heros unless they begged to get the opportunity to get shot down and killed or inprisoned!  Now I know why she thinks Trump so heroic...he voulunteerd for his current position!! So sorry to hear Hound does not consider any of the draftees from 1860 on as heros unless they volunteerd for dangerous duty and got killed, captured or seriously wounded in carryig it out!

Actually, if we consider everyone a hero, then what do we call those who go above and beyond.  Would you give everyone that serves the Congressional Medal of Honor?  No, we single out those (real) heroes for that singular honor.

But we already knew that. You are absolutely right Hound. To call everyone who puts on a uniform a hero diminishes those that truly are. When I say uniform I mean military, Leo's, firemen (especially firemen) and paramedics. Some first responders truly are heroes but some are just low lifes that put on a uniform to go to work.

Case in point, the Ft. Hood shooter was wearing a uniform, is he a hero? Well to the libturds probably so.

I'll try to dry my tears that you think my response is "weak".  It's actually a strong response, but because you don't agree with me, my response is weak.  

I think it is weak on your part that you would have voted for him but you didn't like his running mate.  If you believe in someone's vision - you don't let his running mate hold you back.
