Shortly after he announced with much fanfare that Amazon would make their minimum wage $15 per hour he sent a message to the employees that he was ending bonuses and stock awards to pay for the increase.  ROFLMAO!  Now the warehouse workers are complaining that their total comp is actually going down because of this.  Bezos may be a left wing nut but he is also a shrewd and cunning businessman and I can assure you they figured out which approach would be cheaper.  So Comrade Sanders got what he wanted, and the employees are getting screwed as a result.  That is schadenfruede at its very best.

I'd actually rather have $15 an hour than some puny bonus based on some arbitrary standards.  I doubt too many employees were able to buy Amazon stock - they'd be contributing forever to buy one share.  

The truth is that big business figured out some time ago that they could screw over the employees and there wouldn't be much they could do about it.

Actually each of the employees received between 2 and 3 shares per year which at $2,000 per share was worth between $4K and $6K and grew from there.  And the average bonus was 8%-10% of their annual salary, also not a small amount.  Basically the only employees that will benefit are those that have been there less than 3 years.  Almost every employee there for 3 years or more already made $15 per hour or more.  He basically screwed over most of his employees to satisfy Bernie Sanders.  And the majority of their 500,000 plus employees work in the warehouses.
