I personally believe Trump is taking the right approach.  Whatever is being reported by the media is what they assess what is happening; however, when you think about the Middle East, and the Saudis in particular, there is likely going on more behind the scenes than what is happening on the surface.  The Saudis are in a tricky place with the Kingdom - the possibility of their King being overthrown and taken over by radical Muslims is very real.  Don't forget that executions are not offensive to the Kingdom - we do not have the same human rights values.  Some people believe ours are worse....

But why should Trump start cancelling multibillion dollar contracts which are of benefit to Americans, beneficial to our national security, and beneficial to the Middle East?  The "victim" was a Saudi citizen, not an American.  And they dealt with him on Saudi property in line with Saudi laws.

Ladies and gentlemen, I have a question. I continue to get emails about the so-called Washington Post journalist, Jamal Khashoggi. My question is a really rather simple one: Where was this concern for our ambassador and three other men brutally murdered in Benghazi?

At this point, what does it matter?

The question I had is a simple one as well that I do not think anyone has touched on -

1.  This person was under political asylum in the USA and was a Saudi citizen - so he had reason to leave his country for fear of something and came to the USA as a journalist protected inside our borders by our rights.  As a journlist and Saudi citizen does he not understand the laws of his own country?

2.  He was not in the USA when this happened and other countries do not just allow our rights to transfer because we say so on their soil.

3. If he had fear of anything why would he walk into a embassy knowning that it is considered the same as being physically in that country with all the rights or lack of attached?  Being a journalist he must know that the rules and laws that cover inside the USA do not transfer because you were looking for a story or any other reason in another country and into an embassy where the only rules that apply are what they want to enforce inside those walls and not even the laws of the surrounding countryside.

This is almost as good as one of the SCOTUS storylines

I went to a party and watched people get drugged and raped.  I was scared.  I kept going back till I was raped, and possibly went back after that.

I still have more questions then answers.

I'm under the impression that a lot of people are trying to apply US standards to a Middle Eastern country.  He wrote about the need for free press in Saudi.  This offended those in charge of the Kingdom - they don't have free press there.  He was executed in the same manner as our journalists who were beheaded at one time.  So this really shouldn't come as a surprise.

BTW, I do not believe that Trump is giving them plausible denial.  Pompeo was sent for a reason, that he is not going to discuss publicly.

I can apply human standards to a rattlesnake but that does not make it a human.  There are people in the world who are monsters without logic, reason or compassion - We have our share of nutz inside in the USA, but our nutz are few and far between when you look at many of the middle east who wake up every morning chanting death to USA.

Just because I am a US citizen does not mean i can carry a gun into Mexico and claim the 2nd, it does not work that way, most of the time you have to be careful just to cross state lines. No US right is guaranteed outside of our borders.

Antifatech was the first to raise hell on this site about the death of this journalist, but while Benghazi burned he defended the Obama administration and probably still claims the vast right wing conspiracy just like that witch ( my apologies to witches ).

Those of us who are appalled at this (WHY ARE YOU NOT APPALLED HOUND?) do not demand our standards be accepted by foreign cultures, but by God we do demand our own government and president to apply our own standards in response to the brutal premeditated murder and disection of a American resident by a brutal authoritarian regime! Isn't it interesting that Trump's favorite foreign leaders (Putin, Bin Salman, and Kim Jong Un) have all ordered the murder of their own citizens on foreign soil? I don't think Macron, Merkel or Trudeau have ever considered such actions.

This is sick!

Wake up America!

The most stupid thing liberals always try to do is apply US morals to others in the world of murderers, thieves, rapists, etc.  Just because this Arab got money from da liberal WaPo, you idiots think we own him.  Sorry, but you need WAKE UP, IDIOT.
