With Bigfoot, Rude and other Ol' Timers posting a bit lately thought it a good time to bring back an Oldie I found while surfing my external disk drive recently.  Tribute to Bigfoot, his annual awards and starting the College Football pickin' contest

The Ballad of BigFoot

Come and listen to my story about a man named ‘Foot

Retired to the lake after teaching from a book

Thought he’d pass the time by working in the lawn

But   that  just gave him a    great  big yawn

(Bored that is, big time, need some excitement)

Then one day he and the Misses knew they were set

From what the ‘Foot had found while surfing on the ‘net

He found the Lake Martin forum was the best place to be

The characters he found there are the best you’ll ever see

(They talk about sports that is, and bumpers, water level, cooking, and small engines)

‘Foot paid attention to each and every post

He liked all of them, but the funny ones the most

Thought to himself I really like this stuff

I need to honor some but should really make it tough

(Awards that is, BigFoot style, End of Year analysis, Grading on a curve)

Later, the ‘Foot saw the light and had a great idea

He should start a pool, and the winner gets a beer

College Football-palooza was born amidst all the chatter

And ‘Foot reported every Sunday with precise mindless babble

(Results that is, Leonard’s Losers style, someone must be cheating)

Now we all look forward to the awards and the pool

We visit the forum often to see who gets taken to school

‘Foot thanks the Webmaster and his bountiful staff

For giving us a means for some excitement and a laugh

(Spew City that is, morning coffee, beer, Lake Martin lemonade)

(Yall post here, now ,,,, ya hear)

They are so interesting...... in a "Talladega Nascar pile-up kinda way" 

I believe that quote was credited to Lamont, but I always thought it was Catboat

Well TIE ME KANGAROO DOWN!  I just get back to me 'puter after a hard day of wall-to-wall football and the Ballad Master has fixed up a 

master salad for me (was sitting here half asleep until I saw this)...and so insightful I might add.  I still have to have my "forum fix" but I do miss some of the crazy stuff from this forum (even before the days of required registration) and the football fanatics from the Sports Forum...the great posts from Rude, LNG, Cat, McGill, Talisi, Mack, both Summer's, John C. and yes, Aardvark, I should have given you awards...so many great posts..so few awards to pass out.  But the MVP award at this time has to go to LAKNGULF because he wrote a ballad about me...LONG LIVE LNg!   ...no bias here
