As these invading hordes of immigrants… “caravans”… approach our border, there are two schools of thought.  The first is that rejecting their illegal entry lacks humanity.  They have suffered a 2700 mile trek… well some hitchhiking and Mexican transportation assistance has been involved.   Many of the “humanitarian school” like to quote from an inscription written on our Statue of Liberty.  And to be truthful, these early invasions will represent a better life for those who come here purely to relieve their impoverishment.

But… in the long run… that mindset is unsustainable...  especially for our descendents.

The second school of thought is that these illegal immigrants are stealing our resources (same as last sentence of my first paragraph... but, phrased differently).  These immigrants cannot possibly improve the American economy as a whole.  The industrious few of them may drive down the costs of agriculture, and industry… menial labor, but they do so to the detriment of the economy as a whole through the unlimited distribution of public funds.  That is to say that they are supported by all taxpayers without the consent of those taxpayers and without return on the tax investment.  Much of the taxpayers’ funds are summarily expatriated, by the recipients, to their families back in their homeland (the 3rd largest contribution to Mexico’s economy is imported U.S. money).

Each of them carves off a share of our resources.  They dilute our culture and disrupt our social fabric.  Unlike the earlier waves of immigration in the 19th and 20th century, this new wave 1 - comes uninvited, 2- makes no attempt to assimilate (keeps mother tongue, establishes ghettos, and obfuscates established U.S. Federal, state, and local laws), and 3 - retains allegiance to their country of origin.  Even if less than 10% are criminals… or worse, terrorists… in the main, each wave of immigrant threatens the wealth of our nation… one bite at a time.

Read again the previous paragraph from the start.  These are the “huddled masses” (a term inappropriately co-opted by liberals).

The vast majority of the oncoming brigade and division sized hordes are males of military service age.  They are especially suitable for the relief of their homeland... if they were to remain there.

Yes, this represents a humanitarian crisis.  And there will be no good resolution to this problem foisted upon America from outside our borders.

So… let’s look at it by the raw numbers. See this video… and get back to me:

Good presentation and good data if correctly stated.  The US has tried to help these countries improve their economies and those $ are kept by the governments and their 1%’ers.

Greed and corruption prevents any progress in the economic futures of those gum balls.  Open borders are not an answer either or otherwise our people at the lowest economic levels will be hurt even further.  Corruption in Washington will ensure that the US generally will be weakened.

So, Major, what is your solution?

“So, Major, what is your solution?”  Well Carlson... because you asked:

1 – It is the role of Congress to set immigration law. Nothing permanent can be done until Congress passes a law with teeth.  Until then, the President is legally able to set immigration policy by executive order if it is the best interest of national security.  Currently, we have… in defiance of our own best interests… the most lenient and nearly nonexistent immigration laws.

2 – Asylum must be granted only at embassies and consulates.   The President can require that ALL requests for asylum be filed at an embassy or consulate.  For those who enter the country illegally, we need an Ellis Island arrangement whereby applicants can be screened and detained until the case for asylum is verified.  Fleeing crime and poverty, no matter how unfortunate, is NOT grounds for asylum. With respect to crime and diseases - screening is most appropriate

3 – Mexico is a significant part of the problem.  “Behavior is a results of its consequences” – B. F. Skinner.  We need to ratchet up the consequences to Mexico for abetting illegal immigration to the United States (safe passage, transportation, logistical support, tolerance of criminal trafficking, etc).  Our methods are (can be) to decrease monetary foreign aid to Mexico and then… if Mexico remains intransigent… to completely close the border (suspend commerce).  Mexico is absolutely dependent upon us.  It seems that, at this time, we are doing all of the compromising.

4 – Build the wall. Instead of catch and release, we need to catch and return.  Entertain absolutely NO asylum requests from illegal border crossers.  As the flow of immigrants piles up at the border, Mexico will be forced to crack down. It will be a humanitarian nightmare.  We have a right to our sovereignty and Mexico needs to respect that right.  We don’t (currently) need a wall on our Canadian Border… do we?

5 – Convert all foreign aid to El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua, and Guatemala, to monitored materiel support through USAID.  No money.

6 – If you enter our country illegally, neither you nor your children will ever become citizens.  You will not be eligible for welfare or any other financial stipend. You will receive only EMERGENCY medical care.  You will not be entitled to public schooling.  Your children born here will not be granted birthright citizenship.  If you commit a crime you will be imprisoned... and then, when your sentence is completed, you will be summarily deported.

7 – If you are a commercial enterprise and you hire an illegal alien, you will be fined $10,000 per illegal employee and you will become ineligible for any federal contracts.  If you are a private citizen and you hire an illegal alien, you will be fined $1,000 per job performed by an illegal alien.  There are no fish on an un-baited hook.

Barring significant and meaningful action on the part of Congress… you know… those people that “We the people” elect to represent us:

Constitutional convention by the states

And… inevitably… not in our lifetime… the reality of the 2nd Amendment.

Well, I did ask!  Lol.

actually I agree with all of your actions.  #4 seemed too low but while we are dreaming, I would move it to #1.

The gridlock will prevent most if not all.  Has anyone ever told you that you have too much time on your hands?

happy thanksgiving!

God is watching us.

He sees when we are selfish… and when we are compassionate.

He watches to see that we are both wise and compassionate.

He sees whether we shall are discerning… or disconsonant.

Shall we help our brother… yet...  in so doing, doom his children.

Shall we feed the one at hand… and in so doing, doom the legions of the future.

The trail leads from us to our heirs.

For the scion of our own blood… and the masses of our brothers’ prodigy,

We can neither quench the fire of fecundity… nor enforce restraint.

The great rage between the paucity of the “have nots”… and the miserliness of the “haves”,

cannot be squelched in our lifetime… unless embraced by a majority of forward thinkers,

who MUST now trade in inhumanity… or leave the bloodshed to our young.

Is THIS the definition of Armageddon?  Have we ANY forward thinkers?
