was the question.  His answer...a very brief perfunctory comment about his family then a long embarrassing statement beginning with ''I am thankful that I have made such a wonderful difference in this country.''   What a jerk...the only thing that exceeds his brillance is his modesty!

Wake up America!!!

We are being lead by an egomaniacal human time bomb!

Architect - “We are being lead by an egomaniacal human time bomb!”  - - Whose policies and actions have improved the quality,  quantity of life, and opportunity for ALL legal and non-criminal citizens.  He has improved employment, wages, and productivity.  He has taken seriously and diligently his obligation as Commander in Chief to defend our nation and its sovereignty.  He is doing whatever he can to plug the porosity of borders which has permitted introduction of illegal drugs, criminals, terrorists, and illegal immigrants… all against the headwinds of Congressional inaction and the 9th Circuit Court.  He subscribes and pursues the policy of smaller, less intrusive government.  He has… refreshingly… stood up for our nation in the face of unfair trade practices.  In the face of protectionism and government subsidies by foreign competitors he expects fairness and responds only in kind. He does not condone junk-science… especially when it overwhelmingly burdens the welfare and productivity of our nation.

Most of those who hate the phrase “Make America Great Again”, do so only because Our President (and CEO) came up with it.  In truth and practice… it’s an excellent idea!  It is contrary to the policies of his predecessor.

If your gal Hillary had been elected President, what would have been the changes we would have seen in her first two years in office? Do you support thousands of illegal immigrants storming across the Southern border? Do you support riots on college campuses and other places across the Country with no one being held accountable? Do you want America to continue to "apologize" for the fact that we are the greatest Country in the world? Do you want more people on welfare, an economy that is stagnated, more sanctuary cities hiding rapists, murderes, violent gangs, drug dealers, human trafficking, and on and on? Do you support a "National" news media that has done nothing but spend 90% of their time "blasting" President Trump who regardless of their negative reporting has been able to achieve "record" levels in numerous areas of the Country's economy? Do you support the Democratic Party that "preaches" confronting Republicans in grocery stores, in restaurants, in their office, in front of their homes, and in any other places you can find them? Do you support the theme of Democrats that says, "When they go low, We kick them"? Do you agree with Democrats that propose a "free" College education for everyone or should each individual be "responsible" and have a "desire" and a work ethic that helps them achieve their goals in life?

Of course you won't agree, but it is my "opinion" that in the last two years the Democratic Party has done nothing but further "divide" this Country. Remember that for more than thirty years our government has been" talking" about the "immigration" issue and finally we have a President that "understands" that a Nation without borders cannot "protect" its citizens. Most all countries require a "Visa" to enter their country. When asked "why" should countries require a Visa, the answer is simple, they want to "control" who gets in and out, (for security reasons they want to know who you are and when you are leaving.

If, and a huge if it is, I agreed that Trump has ''made America Great Again'' I too would be thankful for what he has done, but I would still be sick and disgusted that he is such an egomaniac and so full of himself that he thanks HIMSELF and HIS own efforts before he thanks the Major for his!  I know most of you hate Obama as completely as I hate Trump, but  I think most Americans would say Barack Obama spent his Thanksgiving in a lot less offensive way than Trump!

Absolutely not. First of all I have a difficult time hating anyone and I am sad that you seem to find it so easy.  You choose to attack inconsequential chaff and ignore the wheat that is our nation's positive progress others have pointed out in this thread

I saw President Trump on an extended phone call with a deployed Naval Officer yesterday, asking the officer's opinion about things like electromagnetic catapults on a carrier as compared to the traditional steam ones, and asking about deployment times and other subjects near and dear to our military.  He followed that with quite a long series of unscripted questions and answers from the media, something that Obama would be stumbling over so badly he would probably pee his pants.  Trump is building the military where Obama was doing his level best to dismantle it.  I didn't like that one bit but it didn't make me hate Obama.  As to Trump, i don't like his mannerisms, his petty bickering, unbridled ego, unpresidential use of Twitter and all that but you can damn well bet that if the Dems choose a nominee from the current list of apparent front runners I will be at the head of the line to vote for Trump in November 2020.

And as to any elevated fear that he is unhinged and likely to start throwing nukes in a hissy fit, you very badly misjudge him and his ability to do just that.  As long as we have military men of strong conviction and incredible intelligence and presence like John Hyten in charge of our nuclear forces there will be little to no chance that such a thing could happen.  Hyten already told a Trump if he gave an illegal order (say, to nuke Lichtenstein) in a way that is far out of line with the threat the two of them "would have to sit down and talk about it" before Hyten would release the nukes.  Hyten, Commander of Strategic Command, has all of the strategic nuclear forces under his command.  By the way, Trump neither challenged no fired him for saying that, so maybe he isn't so unhinged after all.

So, arch, rant away but do so knowing that some of us really don't care about the chaff as long as the wheat goes into the basket.

Well said, Mr. Hodja.

I am sure that I detested Barack Obama… mostly because he was obscure.  I don’t think I hated him as much as I was apprehensive about what he was doing to my country.  He said and promised things that did not pass the (my) smell test… he was obscure and seemed to do things which denigrated my country.  Some of what he promised later proved to be patronizing (2nd definition) and deceptive.  Where President Trump comes off as aggressive… Obama came off as narcissistic. In his political career, Obama accomplished nothing positive.  He was scripted (by whom?)

BUT, Obama was my Commander in Chief. In my military career I have suffered under more than one insufferable commander… no choice but to preserver, and stay focused on my mission.

Never have I been I tempted to smash windows, verbally assault a liberal in a public place (or any place), hit someone in the head with a bicycle lock, light a dumpster on fire, put on a hat made to look like genitalia, or falsely accuse a liberal of sexual misconduct.  None of those things would have budged Obama from behind the Resolute Desk. (I doubt that either GEN Casey or GEN Petreaus would have been amused.)

President Trump, on the other hand,  has accomplished more for the benefit of America and her citizens, than the last three Presidents combined… in only two years.

President Trump is actually, not a politician… he does not play by political rules!  I perceive him to be the elected CEO of the United States.  He certainly behaves like a CEO.  He is a master at negotiation… “The Art of the Deal.”  He negotiates… exactly as he said he would… on behalf of the United States.  He leverages strength and position.  He holds the other side of the table accountable for their bargaining position… and makes it clear when they are losing.  He stirs them to frenzy and takes advantage of their disarray.  When the other side is uncompromising, he allows them to choke on their own “best and final offer.”  When America leaves the bargaining table on a “no deal” decision… the wailing and gnashing of teeth is somewhat entertaining.

For example, the hysteria over leaving the Paris Accord… “…they have discovered that the one who was going to pay for the meal… has left the restaurant.” – Cavuto, 05 JUN 17

As I said before, I am not especially comfortable with his methods… but, WOW look how effective are they.

In two years, the MSM has not discovered that they need to come to the table with professional journalism… instead of juvenile invective.  I am sure they would learn that he will respect them as adults.  In the mean time… the MSM is being schooled.

the Left and the left leaning media ever gave him credit for anything he did, he wouldn't feel the need to toot his own horn.

I, like others have said, do not hate Obama. I strongly "disagree" with his actions as President and the result that his agenda of "hope and change" has had on America. The eight years under his leadership set the stage for the continued division and lack of civility so widespread in our country today. What President Trump has accomplished in two years is "astounding" when compared to the eight years experienced under Obama. He and Hillary together along with the assistance of the DOJ and FBI have placed this country in a most vulnerable state of affairs. As I have said many times before, the obstruction by the Democrats and the failure of the "News" media to responsibly keep the "citizenry" truthfully informed is "dishonorable and shameful".                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                         Architect, on several occasions I have asked you what has the Democratic Party done during the last two years that has contributed to the "well being" of America. At this point I will make it easy; tell us just "one" thing that the Democrats can take credit for that has benefited all Americans.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                             As to your comment about how Obama spent his Thanksgiving, do you think there is any comparison to the things he might be concerned about relative to the myriad of major concerns that President Trump is dealing with on a daily basis?

Donald J. Trump has done nothing but toot his own horn (usually when there was nothing to toot about) for the last 40 years.  The only time he ever gave any credit to anybody other than to himself was to his father for helping him get started with a ''modest'' 1 million dollar loan!!

If you think the ''left'' wing media never gives him good reviews and kind words shouldn't that be at least a little offset by FOX...the most watched cable outlet in the universe!!  They gladly spout and support his lies 24/7 as does a huge chunk of the internet!  The portion of the media still interested in the news simply report what he says and does and his rabid fans call it fake news!  How can anybody who for 4 years jumps up and down and advocates the expenditure millions of your and my money investigating Hillary for doing government business on a personal computer completely ignore the same thing being done by a Trump?  And regardless how the Trumpistas cloak it, it was the SAME thing!

As soon as Dear Leader stops saying and doing stupid things that are not worthy of respect he will begin to get some respect even from his detrsctors...don't hold your breath!!

Architect –

You have just managed to string together 23 lines of unsupported invective.  It’s known as a rant… diatribe.  I could not find anything in your post worthy of rebuttal.

Your argument… if that is indeed what it was… needed more substance.  You’ve put 24 ounces of tofu on a limp biscuit.

It is not the same thing.  One of the reasons I rarely frequent this forum anymore, is no matter what gets posted GF and Architect have to try to twist it and nothing interesting is posted from that point on.  Frankly, there is enough of that on FB, and the only reason I frequent it is to keep in touch with some people I have known a long time and care about.  Neither of GF or A says anything proposting alternate solutions to the problems facing this country - just liberal drivel they have no doubt picked up from some liberal website and regurgitate here.  No orginal thoughts.

And architect, if I hear you refer to President Trump as "Dear Leader" one more time, I hope someone punches you in the mouth.  This is not North Korea, and Trump is no King Jun IL, nor is he Hitler.  Just the fact that you promote those kinds of thoughts tell me that you are ignorant.  Read some history and then make your case.

And GF, I think you are either a pot stirrer or you have never had an original thought and we both know what that means.

Oh no… sometimes Architect calls for a serious argument construct.  That he does not have one of his own, does not mean that he is not paying attention.

GF merely needs to come out of his intellectual “black hoodie.” At first I thought he was trolling us… but, maybe not so.  And, you could be right, he might be sittin’ there smiling and laughing with a beer in his hand.  That notwithstanding, If he doesn’t make any sense, I just go on to the next post.

“…Speak your truth quietly and clearly; and listen to others, even to the dull and the ignorant; they too have their story…” – and – “…If you compare yourself with others, you may become vain or bitter…” -  Desiderata,  Max Ehrmann

I don’t think of Architect or GF as dull or ignorant… just different.  BOTH of them have pushed a button that has sent me off on research.  And when they make a valid or believable/actionable case, sometimes I respond.

I don’t want to try and drive them off the LMF… and I won’t block them.

* * * * *

Yes… I would like for either or both of them to string together a logical argument for their positions… free of stridency and invective.

You have a right to your opinion.  Being able to think original thoughts is a mark of intelligence - regurgitating pablum that has been fed to you (not you personally) is not original thought.  They are not alone - we have become a nation of lemmings, being told what to think, and we have gotten to lazy to use our brains, thinking and analyzing for ourselves.

Funny you should quote the Deserata.  I just read it again today.

Dear Leader (nobody punched me) is not Kim Yung Un...he just wishes he was!  Thankfully, the American people are finally letting him know loud and clear he is not!!

Donald Trump is headed for a drubbing in 2020.  My fear is that he will holler once again ''Election fraud'', never accept the will of the people and barricade himself in the Oval Office and dare anybody to try to remove him!  That's not a joke...this guy is that damn crazy!!

Now, I suggest you read the history of Germany in the late 20's and early 30's including the speeches from leaders of the time, the enthusiastic way the people let their freedom be eroded, and the actions and lack of action of the ''reasonable'' members of society, business, the religious community and political leadership as the storm clouds rolled in.  The parallels are scary.  Don't scoff until you do the comparison!

Finally, please point out a few of the ''original'' thoughts expressed by. Phil, Wix, MM, Butteye, Shortbus, etc, etc, etc on this forum!!
