OK Nancy--its in your court " open the govt & we will negotiate"; just like Obama Care "pass the legislation so we can see what it says"; dont negotiate ? expect a declaration of national emergency & send in the Nartional Guard & Military, until the Corps of Engineers gets the wall built--only thing i wish he had done, was to freeze congressional salaries, travel, expense accounts, all spending, until a deal is reached, accepted, and signed into law--AND why watch Super Toilet Bowl ????

What you are ignoring is the truth....Trump caved in. Limbaugh, Culter, and Hannity must have told him it was OK to cave to Nancy. Have to watch FOX tonight to get Hannity's excuse for Trump caving. Probably that Trump is bigger than Nacny and realized the hardship the workers were experiencing and came to their rescue.

I don't think Trump caved, but talks of flights being cancelled and delays, that impact the economy are not something Trump wants.  I don't think that he believes Dems will negotiate in good faith, so he does this and reopens the government for 3 weeks - if at the end of that time, he can always shut the government down and then declare a national emergency and take money fof the wall.  I can't help but believe there is a strategy behind this decision. But I know that a lot of government employees will be glad to get back to work and be glad to collect back pay to catch up their bills.  I hope the lesson that they learned is that the government is no longer a stable employer, and that they need to have emergency back up money for this kind of situation.

Sadly, that is true.  Saving has become a thing of the past since then invented bank credit cards.  I asked someone the other day if they remembered Christmas Clubs - people opened them in January and added a bit all year to save up for Christmas.  This was back before Visa and Mastercard and all those other bank cards came into being.  One other thing - I think it really did Sears in when the bank credit cards become the thing - Sears was one of the few places that let people buy appliances, furniture, etc on credit.  (My mother worked for Sears in their credit office for about 10 years, back in the 70s)
