I have a Cardinal who has a window fetish....especially first thing in the morning. I have tried shutting blinds, colorful items in windows.... not working. I try and respect wildlife but if I can’t find a non violent solution....it’s gonna meet a pellet gun! Any ideas?

All nongame birds are protected under the provisions of this regulation except the following: • Crows • Starlings • English sparrows • Eurasian collared doves • Pigeons • Other non-native species •

A BETTER SOLUTION The birds sees its refection in the window. Put a cover over the window on the outside. If you put it on the inside it will still see its reflection. Tape some trash bags over the window for a few days on the outside and see what happens. Another idea is to run ope may get anthe sprinkler against the window when the cardinal arrives. A few days and it should get the hint.

The Pope may get angry if you mess with a Cardinal.

The easiest way to stop birds from pecking on a window is to take a piece of ribbon, cord, ski line, whatever and drape it along the frame or base of the window being attacked.  The bird will associate this with the illusion of a snake and stay away.  Works for us every year that nutty cardinal comes back to protect his babies.
