You did a good deed tonight. Hopefully, the owner will put on a collar with a tag.

So glad that they were reunited.  Thank you for keeping someone's baby safe until they could be reunited.

No This has turned into a situation that is hard to fathom. It was lucky that I found the owner of the lost Dachshund. I had gone to several houses with no luck. The last house that I went to I said I am not going any further. Luckily that was the house of the lost dog and I was able to unite them. Strangely enough a person who saw my original post showed up at my door about noontime today. He was from much further down the road and had seen my post. They had also lost a Dachshund yesterday and had seen my post. Unfortunately we had not seen his Dachshund and as for as I know their dog is still lost. Just hopeing for the best.

Hopefully, this other person has their dog collared, tagged and microchipped, so if he is found it will be clear who he belongs to.  I hate when animals go missing, because I know it is devastating to the owner, and scary for the pet.

Our dog is microchipped but the original owners gave it a stupid name which we promptly changed.  Will be fun explaining that our dog Finn on the collar is the same as the microchipped Ocelot, a name he won't answer to.  Hope they find their dog but the longer it goes the more grim the possibilities.  And I'm not sure that many people, especially if they don't own a dog, even know about microchipping.

If you have maintained a membership with the company that manufactured the microchip you can update your pets profile and change the name. We are with Homeagain and keep it updated with a picture, weight and our vets info.

Suggest you do not put dog's name on collar. If someone wants to steal the dog, it makes it easier when they know the dog's name. Suggest all that is necessary is your last name and telephone number.
