The U K ambassador sends Whitehall his analysis of Donald Trump as being, among other things, ''unpredictable, faction riven, dusfunctional, clumsy, inept, and abnormal''.  Today, as if on-queue, Trump opens his mouth (tweets) his typical ''well thought out and incisive'' response to HM's ambassador and fully thereby fully confirms the ambassador's analysis!

Are the Brits trying to influence the election??

Actually, this is pretty par for the Brits, who believe themselves to be superior to the U.S., despite our "special relationship".  But given the problems in their country, and their own leaders, this is ridiculous.

This is actually pretty serious - because if the WH elects not to deal with the British Ambassador, that could put a real damper on normal diplomatic business.  The UK may be supporting him for the moment, but you can be sure he will shortly be replaced, but you likely won't hear about it.  Ambassadors are appointed to not only form a relationship with the host government, and they are permitted to give their candid view of things - however, these message are what is known as "back channel" and certainly not something meant to be leaked.  So the UK government may seem like they are floating calmly on th surface, but you can be sure they are paddling like made beneath the water.  And when they find the leaker, it will be "off with his head".

Good thing Trump had a good visit with the Queen so recently.

By Andy Borowitz July 8, 2019  (The Borowitz Report)—The British Ambassador to the United States, Kim Darroch, explained on Monday that he had tried to conceal insulting remarks from Donald Trump by writing his cables in English.

“I believed that, by writing these messages in English, that would serve the same purpose as encryption,” Darroch said. “The fact that Trump was somehow able to decode them remains deeply mysterious to me.”

Darroch said that, “out of an abundance of caution,” he took further steps to make the cables indecipherable to Trump, deploying multisyllabic words such as “dysfunctional.”

“Clearly, I did not take into account the possibility that one of his aides might read these cables aloud to him and explain what all of the long words meant,” he said. “I was not aware that there was anyone at the White House capable of performing such duties.

” In Washington, Trump appeared not to be taking the insulting cables personally. “The British are just mad at us for taking over their airports in the eighteenth century,” he said.

UK Ambassador resigned today.  What do you want to bet he was asked to resign???  See Arch - I told you.  I would imagine a sternly worded diplomatic note was delivered to her Majesty's government by the US Ambassador regarding the matter.  He's not the first Ambassador to fall prey to his honesty.  Funny isn't it - how the British press had to recount every time that they felt Trump breached Royal protocol (funnier still because Trump is not a British subject), and yet here is their Ambassador being very undiplomatic.

Trump has the gall to tweet in reply that the ambassador is "wacky, stupid and a pompous fool"!  I would say  such a response from anybody as wacky, stupid and pompous as Trump is certainly demonstrating a wee bit of insecurity!

We all like to think we are our better selves, but I don't think it is unfair for Trump to respond to someone that has called him "insecure", "inept", etc.   So I am not sure what you are going on about.

You know you can't have it both ways - you can't agree with the Ambassador that he is "insecure" and then turn around and citicize him for arrogance.  I'm not sure I want a President who isn't a bit insecure - it's a big job with a lot of responsibilites.  Don't you think the Ambassador might be a bit arrogant calling our President names?  His job is not to rate our President, his only job is to represent her Majesty's government in the U.S.

He was the one who got caught......the opinion of Trump is world wide....OPPs, except among the deplorables.

WASHINGTON — Ask members of the Washington diplomatic corps about the cables that Sir Kim Darroch, the British ambassador who resigned Wednesday, wrote to London describing the dysfunction and chaos of the Trump administration, and their response is uniform: We wrote the same stuff.

“Yes, yes, everyone does,” Gérard Araud, who retired this spring as the French ambassador, said on Wednesday morning of his own missives from Washington. “But fortunately I knew that nothing would remain secret, so I sent them in a most confidential manner.”

If you read several articles their biggest gripe is that Trump doesn't do business as usual.  They have a hard time getting a handle on insight as to what is going on in the WH and what Trump's intent might be.  Apparently Trump prefers to deal directly with heads of government, rather than working through their Ambassadors.  So if your reputation as a diplomat hung on your ability to pump your contacts for information, and that didn't work, don't you tend to think you would blame the person that you preceive is preventing you from looking good?

The forum trolls don’t get it and apparently never will, or if they do won’t admit it.

To point out a obvious - how many times have we heard Archi whine about being called a child murder etc because of his abortion stance.

Archibald feels that this is unfair to him and likes to post about it.  I know he has posted several times to me directly about how he was posted about being called a murderer or child killer. So I guess that is just Archibalds "Insecurity"
