I have long thought that Russia went belly up far too easily. Could it be that they saw that they had no hope of taking us head on so they decided to take another tact. They saw from the 60's how easy it was to corrupt America. The comminist think very long term. First they began to infiltrate the schools. They villify our heros, wipe out the patriotic history, make peversion main stream, only teach America's failings,real and imagined, teach our country was founded on slavery, and any other fault they can find or invent. 

   They began to infilltrate our political system. Demand more and more freebes. Do every thing they can to attract and keep hoards of illegald pouring into our country. At the same time scream about the deplorable conditions on the border and tell lies like making the illegals "drink ftom tollets".Now anyone with an I Q above AOC knows that is a lie! They know that soon these illegals will be reliable Democrat voters. They have given up on Americans.

   They have metastasized into the news media. Think not:remember how many of the media were in tears when Trump won? They still make up stories like they came from the KGB's department of "dezinformatsiya"and it well may have. When any blame America story appears four or five major news networls will report it almost simultaneously using the very same script their handlers feed them. They don't even bother to rewrite it!

  This but a small example of what is hapening to our country. Every thing the left advocates or does weakens America industrially, militalarly or morally. What else could it be? Can anyone name anything they have done to benefit America?

While I give respectful thought to your point in general, the Russian are socialists, not communists.  And I honestly don't believe the Russians are to blame for what has happened in this country.  Back in the mid-60s, we decicded to throw out all the rules - and every since then, we have been doing just that.  Sometime after the 1964 Civil Rights Act, we decided that everyone had to be equal as a matter of principle.  At least you had to hand it to MLK, he led his people for a goal and it was achieved.  Then came all those programs to make sure that everyone had an equal opportunity and people were relatively happy with that.  But then came Welfare - in the beginning it was an embarassment to be collecting public assistance.  But in an effort to be more and more fair, we allowed the rules for welfare to be stretched and stretched until it became a way of life, and for generations to follow.  Then they added Social security disability and people started to figure out just how little they needed to do and suddenly, their life was being funded by the government.  Hard work was for "fools".  

Then came along my generation - women wanted fulfilling careers and eventually it became that women had to work to make ends meet.  And they felt guilty that they weren't at home with the kids (and both parents were exhausted from working all the time) so they started buying things for their kids.  And we worried about their self esteem and we didn't want them to be hurt in any way, so we started giving them everything they wanted and now they think they deserve everything.  We've so impressed upon them that life is always supposed to be fair - so everyone gets a trophy for showing up - and then they go into the workforce, they whine if their every act is not praised and recognized.  WE did this, not the Russians.  

Remember the Hippies, the Yippies, the Yuppies?  We came into the 60s off the success of WWII - we saved Europe and then helped them rebuild; then came Viet Nam.  We started into it slowly, but we never really knew what success would look like - and then we decided that we would try to overwhelm them - except we didn't know how to fight that kind of war, a lot of our people got killed and people began to question why we were even there.  Remember the Domino effect that we were sold?  Eventually it became too unacceptable to be there (and too expensive) and we pulled out.  The Russians didn't invent the lie of the Domino effect  - we did.  Then came Nixon, and we found out that our government would lie to us whenever it was convenient.  

They haven't destroyed our heros - we did.  We found out that they weren't perfect, that they were people of their times.  They were slave owners and adulterers and liars and they went broke.  Now, it is not just your accomplishments but your failings that are put on display.  

I don't believe the Russians infiltrated us and did this to us - we did it to ourselves, and where we are now, is where drove ourselves.

   One of the most accounts of this subterfuge is a book writen by a Russian Lt. Gen. Ion Pacepa called "Disinformation" who had defected to the U S. It tells of what the Russiand did to undermine countries including ours. It is quite an eye opener.

   Remember that Putin is an old KGB officer. And as Al Gore said, "Leopards don't change their stripes!"

Yes, it is never far from my mind that Putin is an ex-KGB, and that the saddest day of his life was when the USSR collapsed.  I'm not saying that he isn't a dangerous player nor that we should trust him.  I think he is evil and would stop at nothing to rebuild Russia to their former glory by bringing down the U.S.  I have actually long worried the Russia and China are conspiring to bring the U.S. to it's knees.  

I guess I just see a continum from the 60s until now that people are embracing this Utopian ideal that everyone is equal, that rich people are the enemy and must be made to pay.  Those with logic can see that given human nature, it will never work.  It's like the concept of "being kind" - we're all supposed to be kind so no one feels bad, yet when you look at the world, kindness is not a natural trait.  Yes, good people will rise to an occassion and help, but "kindness" is not natural, and in history, the "kind" have not fared very well.  I guess that is why we see the bill boards all over urging us to be "kind".

I don't disagree with you.  And I would never suggest that Russia isn't out to get us - but much of the behavior I see today, is us rejecting the very things that made us great.  You might ask yourself - where are the great leaders of the past?  Look at Patton, MacArthur and Eisnehower - they were ruthless in their destruction of the enemy.  Now we fight wars and want to be seen as "fair".  I don't even consider Petreus as a great General - he's a one trick pony.
