You must spend 25 hours of every day "obsessed" with President Trump. Your family feel neglected by their lack of your attention or they are "thankful" that someone like President Trump came along to allow them a little breathing room,

I take it the left wing nuts are on a tear about POTUS.  Must be a miserable thing to have someone living rent free in their minds.  Heck, if I had known he would drive them this crazy I would have voted for him twice.

(wife, daughter, son in law and granddaughter) along with my 3 office mates and their families plus all my immediate neighbors and their families and all our good friends and their families feel the same way about Trump as I do, but none of us spend as many hours a day obsessing about him as you and most of this forum spend worshipping him at his alter and /or kissing his azz!

You have just admitted that you don't have any associations with anyone who does not share your hate for President Trump. How could you have any beliefs other than those you espouse here on the forum. I still say the next few months are going to provide information that is going to be very revealing about the efforts of the Democrats leading up to the election of my and your President.

and l am damn proud of it.  Now, tell us how many family members, how many folks do you pal around with who don’t share your worship and adulation of Donald Trump?  Let’s agree...you associate with who you desire and let me do the same...ok?  It’s still a free country, at least for now, even with Trump’s efforts to make it otherwise!

BTW: I need the fingers on both hands to count those friends and associates who now strongly oppose Trump who are or were Republican and Trump voters (reluctantly in some cases but for Trump never the less) in 2016.

Its around 50/50 on my end but I am making dents in people who loved Hillary who had never heard of Clinton sex issues, whitewater, arkanicide, drug running into various Arkansas airports.

Most of them felt that Hillary "cared" but when asked they realized that was just democrap talking points and the MSM.  A few clips of Hillary and the Bimbo Eruptions and they were like - "they dont care about rape victims?"

Of course it appears you are winning converts by advancing questionable info and that is never good!

I takes both hands to count the number of those associates who now strongly oppose Trump who are or were Republicans and Trump voters (to be sure reluctantly in some cases) in 2016.  I suspect I can more than match Phil in converts the other way.

Nope tell them to go and research it themselves and never to trust anyone without looking at multiple sources and looking into the information themselves.  Usually they come back with I did not ever hear about that from CNN..

LOL, I see you decided to unignore me, guess you really do want to hang on my opinion.

And you might want to start using your toes and any other appendage as well - most people that I know that in some cases almost as left wing as you are leaving the socialist party because they see what is going to happen if a D ever gets back into office.

Keep hanging your hats on giving the rest of the world who wants to break into our country free everything - you are writing Trumps reelection campaign for him.

By your own admission in an earlier post you indicated that everyone you talk to is as rabid as you are and that you live in a nice tiny little socialist antifa echo chamber where you all are ..well just like yourrself.  Either that or you live in the hall of mirrors at the fair.

to President Trump because he is the "only" thing you ever think about and your brain would go "numb" otherwise.

We at 4 independent one person (2 men and 2 women) firms.  We are not employees of anybody other than ourselves.  We decide what is and is not worth our time!  We all hate Trump and consider any time bringing the truth of his corrupt rule is time well spent!!   All 4 of us are proud that both women were among the 1.3 million at the women's March (one with her daughter)!!!

Maybe you should not pop off before thinking about the incorrect possibilities of your assumptions!

You might also check to see what is the time when most of my posts are entered.

Don't you think there are millions of Amercans wo want to achieve that kind of life, too?  Or, are you and your family so wrapped up in yourselves that you really don't care if anybody else gets the American Dream?

I don't know if I have acheived what you consider that dream but really don't care.  Maybe not by the typical Trump standard...we are not rich!  My family and I are happy, comfortable and safe.  It is because I want to preserve our happiness and safety and pass the dream for my grandaughter and all Americans that I am so opposed to this man who is making great strides, in my opinion, toward destroying the dream for so many Americans.

Good Lord!  Unemployment is at an all time low. People are working. And a minimum wage job is a foot in the door for those who have the desire and willingness to climb the corporate ladder much like a college degree is nothing more than a foot in the door at a different level of that ladder. Both still have to prove their worth through hard work, self discipline, and proving their worth to their employer.

the "American Dream" is completely based on economic considerations?  I thought it also had something to do with equal rights and equal justice and equal access, free speech, free press, privacy In your home (bedroom included), freedom to love who you want, freedom to hold an opinion contrary to that held by the vast majority on a particular off topic forum of Lakes on Line! There is a lot more to the American Dream than having a good job, getting an ample paycheck, and "climbing the corporate ladder"...at least there used to be.

By no means is economic well-being the ONLY measure of happiness, but seems to be the most commonly used metric.  Several of what you mention are red herrings, in that laws and public sentiment have made those things far better than when I grew up.  Speaking of that, in my "formative years" the only thing separating our house (located in the state of Arkansas)  from the black neighborhood behind us was an alley.  When I had a paper route serving, among others, the black area of downtown I witnessed things that a 12 year old shouldn't see.  I worked in a McDonalds in 1963 where I witnessed black potential customers being turned away just because of the color of their skin.  After the paper route I served as head usher at a local movie theater where the ticket booth had two sides, one with stairs leading to the balcony for the blacks, the other into the main theater area for everyone else.  On another front homosexuality was strictly suppressed and few if any made their sexual orientation known.

The reason for mentioning all those facts is to compare that environment to now.  Black folks freely live along with whites, hispanics, and asians.  On my 1.5 mile long dead-end road the poulation is a mix of white, black, and asian.  Don't know of any hispanics but nobody would lift an eyebrow if they did move in.  As to the black population still living in poverty, I strongly suspect a good deal, or at least some of that is because they are reminded in many ways that they are not expected to do well, and Government assistance allows them to scrape by.  Over time it becomes a generational thing where kids grow up thinking squalor is normal.  And that applies to "poor white trash" as well as what some call "people of color". Single parent households is another limiting factor and the only ones keeping it that way are the mothers and fathers of those children.  Again, it is so prolific that it is considered "normal".

I could go on but the opportunities for happiness are there much more than when I was in school, and if your comeback is they can't afford to do any better I refer you to my original post.  Is this a perfect country with perfectly equal opportunity for all, no.  Is it better than when I grew up in Arkansas, absolutley.  Do I have prejudices, yes.  Do I constructively control them?  Yes.  I learned a long time ago that one grows up with prejudices (the type and amount depending on their upbringing) and those predudices are permanent.  What the person must do is make a conscious effort to not let those prejudices influence interpersonal relations, and I strive to achieve that every day.  I grew up with prejudices against blacks, but now some of my closest friends and confidants are black.  I grew up in a Roman Catholic family and was taught extreme prejudice against those of Jewish faith.  I struggle every day to keep those in check as well.  I grew up to disdain homosexuality but yet two of my daughter's friends are a lesbian couple and they are welcome in my house any time.  If they decide to get "married" I will attend the ceremony and wish them well...because I care for them as people even though I do not believe their relationship is "ok".

So the bottom line is that no matter how you measure success these days all citizens have more opportunities today than when I was a tyke, particularly when it comes to employment. In spite of all the reasons I should be, I am not a racist and suspect that many who are accused of being racist are flasely accused.  And only Donald Trump knows whether he is racist or says and does certain things for political or economic advantage.  Only he and the Lord know what is in his heart.  Exhibiting behavior that is to some racist does not make him a racist.  And don't start it with the Trumpista crap because if I had an alternative candidate who would be better for the country I probably be supporting him or her.  I just know the cast of clowns on the D side does not include that person.

OK, have to go to the vet and pick up our terminally ill rescue pet.  Hopefully you get my drift.

I appreciate your comments and agree generally with your analysis on ''then and now''.  The reason I so oppose Trump and the basist of his base, is because in my view they display ample evidence that they have no reluctance whatsoever in stopping and even reversing the progress both of us celebrate.  Obviously you disagree with my belief and that freedom to disagree is one of the best parts of the American Dream still available to both of us.  My sincere fear is that many on your side (including some on this forum) and on my side of the political divide would without regret end that freedom given half the chance.

I don't disagree with the freedom to disagree, sometimes arming on the same point or points over and over gets really old.

to those who see Trump as a good thing, but maybe not to those who with urgency honestly beleive like me that he is not only a bad thing but is a threat to our nation!  I think if you cared to recall there were posters on this forum who had a similar narrowly directed obcession between 2009 and 2017.  Should l not expect the same understanding and toleration?  I can guarantee you my obsession will look puny compared to the outcry that will dominate this forum if Bernie Sanders or Elizabeth Warren takes the oath on Jan 20, 2021!!

I think one of the basic differences between you and me is you obsess over the person while I am more concerned about the deeds.  It is the "what", not the "who".  Donald Trump can be the biggest chit-bag as a person, but if his deeds make the country better I can overlook his personal frailties.  I know you and I looks at the deeds differently as well, but sometimes I think you look for things to criticize because of your disdain for the person.  Nuff-enuff, this is my last post in this thread.
